The dynamic development of the fourth industrial revolution, focused on the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies, sparked fears of governments and society regarding the dehumanization of the industry in the future. Currently, there is a need to consider sustainable development and the crucial role of man in the assumptions of industry’s future development. Concerns about the implementation of the fourth industrial revolution’s technology became the basis for building the assumptions of Industry 5.0. The article aims to identify the social and economic expectations of the development of the fourth industrial revolution in the context of the development of the sustainability, humanization, and resilience of Industry 4.0. The article presents the results of research obtained based on a critical analysis of the literature and surveys conducted among representatives of Polish society. As a result of the research, key social expectations as to the directions of development of the Industry 4.0 concept were identified. Recommendations for industry development focused on three areas of development—human-centric, sustainable, and resilient—were established. The presented research results will allow the development of an investment strategy and a government policy to support the development of industry based on the human-centric digitization of the economy.

Effective process management is a basic prerequisite for increasing the quality and performance of educational organizations. The aim of the paper is to point out the potential for the application of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Model 2020 to improve and perfect the processes in a Slovakian vocational school towards sustainability. We used the latest version of the EFQM Model and applied the questionnaire method to conduct a self-assessment. A study of the documentation was also carried out to get more insight into the processes of the school. The application of the EFQM Model 2020 pointed out weaknesses in areas such as those titled Organizational Culture, Driving Performance & Transformation, and Stakeholder Perceptions—namely, the perceptions of employees and partners. Improvements were primarily recommended in the fields of culture management to support changes, motivational processes to support creativity and innovation, human resource planning processes, employee training and development, performance indicators and performance management, and employees’ and partners’ perception measurement to enhance sustainable value for the students and key stakeholders. The paper contributes to the body of knowledge in the field of quality and performance management of Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers.

This article addresses the use of artificial intelligence for the needs of effective, sustainable development in logistics and its components. The subject of this article is to highlight the possibility of processing optimization methods using an artificial intelligence module. The goal is to determine whether the AI module can replicate the same, or at least have a similar result, as the traditional optimization methods used in practice. The challenge involves constantly identifying reserves in already highly sophisticated micro-logistics systems using modern commercial means of artificial intelligence. Applying artificial intelligence to elements of a company’s micro-logistics model is a new approach. This article aims to determine whether artificial intelligence can reduce costs through calculations in a specific area defined for it. By optimizing distribution routes using ChatGPT-3.5, we significantly reduced the total distance traveled, leading to substantial savings in transportation costs. This optimization led to a significant improvement in the efficiency of logistic processes and considerable cost savings. This result demonstrates that artificial intelligence can be an effective tool for solving complex logistic tasks. The possibilities of effectively sustainable logistics development with the help of artificial intelligence lie not only in the quality of the achieved outputs but also in the speed of the calculations and the procedures for solving defined project tasks. It follows from this definition that artificial intelligence will continue to play an essential role in the defined field of logistics in the future.
