Ensemble empirical-mode decomposition (EEMD) is a novel adaptive time-frequency analysis method, which is particularly suitable for extracting useful information from noisy nonlinear or nonstationary data. Unfortunately, since the EEMD is highly compute-intensive, the method does not apply in real-time applications on top of commercial-off-the-shelf computers. Aiming at this problem, a parallelized EEMD method has been developed using general-purpose computing on the graphics processing unit (GPGPU), namely, G-EEMD. A spectral entropy facilitated by G-EEMD was, therefore, proposed to analyze the EEG data for estimating the depth of anesthesia (DoA) in a real-time manner. In terms of EEG data analysis, G-EEMD has dramatically improved the run-time performance by more than 140 times compared to the original serial EEMD implementation. G-EEMD also performs far better than another parallelized implementation of EEMD bases on conventional CPU-based distributed computing technology despite the latter utilizes 16 high-end computing nodes for the same computing task. Furthermore, the results obtained from a pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) model analysis indicate that the EEMD method is slightly more effective than its precedent alternative method (EMD) in estimating DoA, the coefficient of determination R 2 by EEMD is significantly higher than that by EMD (p <; 0.05, paired Mest) and the prediction probability P k by EEMD is also slighter higher than that by EMD (p <; 0.2, paired t-test).

Augmented Reality (AR) is crucial for immersive Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) and the vision of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Labeled data drives object recognition in AR. However, manually annotating data is expensive, labor-intensive, and data distribution asymmetry. Scantily labeled data limits the application of AR. Aiming at solving the problem of insufficient and asymmetry training data in AR object recognition, an automated vision data synthesis method, i.e., background augmentation generative adversarial networks (BAGANs), is proposed in this paper based on 3D modeling and the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) algorithm. Our approach has been validated to have better performance than other methods through image recognition tasks with respect to the natural image database ObjectNet3D. This study can shorten the algorithm development time of AR and expand its application scope, which is of great significance for immersive interactive systems.
Recently the research of vehicle detection is mainly through machine learning, but it still has low detection accuracy problem. With the study of researchers, using deep learning methods of vehicle detection becomes hot. In this paper, a selective search method and a target detection model based on Fast R-CNN are used to detect vehicle. The strategy optimizes the model by preprocessing the sample image and the new network structure. Firstly, the experiment uses the public KITTI data set and self-collected BUU-T2Y data set, respectively, for training validation and test. Secondly, based on the original data set, the experiments go on through incremental learning, combining the KITTI dataset with the BUU-T2Y dataset. The experimental results show that the proposed method is superior to the result of multi-feature and classifier detection in terms of accuracy. To a large extent, the proposed method solved the problem of missing vehicle for detection and improved the accuracy of vehicle testing and robustness.
Object detection plays a vital role in autonomous driving systems, and the accurate detection of surrounding objects can ensure the safe driving of vehicles. This paper proposes a category-assisted transformer object detector called DetectFormer for autonomous driving. The proposed object detector can achieve better accuracy compared with the baseline. Specifically, ClassDecoder is assisted by proposal categories and global information from the Global Extract Encoder (GEE) to improve the category sensitivity and detection performance. This fits the distribution of object categories in specific scene backgrounds and the connection between objects and the image context. Data augmentation is used to improve robustness and attention mechanism added in backbone network to extract channel-wise spatial features and direction information. The results obtained by benchmark experiment reveal that the proposed method can achieve higher real-time detection performance in traffic scenes compared with RetinaNet and FCOS. The proposed method achieved a detection performance of 97.6% and 91.4% in AP50 and AP75 on the BCTSDB dataset, respectively.
