Currently, connected vehicles have gradually stepped into our daily lives, and they generally rely on vehicular networks to generate and exchange traffic related messages to improve the overall travel safety and efficiency. However, due to the open nature of vehicular networks, these traffic related messages could be erroneous, which may be caused by various reasons, ranging from an On-Board Device (OBD) sensor malfunctioning and reporting incorrect reading to the message being tampered by a malicious vehicle. To address these rapidly increasing security challenges, we have proposed AIT in this paper, which is an AI-enabled trust management system for vehicular networks using the blockchain technique. In the AIT system, each vehicle first senses, generates, and exchanges messages with other vehicles. These messages then get validated by the neighboring vehicles. As vehicles receive and validate messages from other nearby vehicles, they will establish and manage the trust of those nearby vehicles, which is enabled by utilizing the deep learning algorithm. Once a vehicle identifies untrustworthy vehicles, it reports them to the nearby Roadside Unit (RSU), and the RSU will validate the authenticity of the report as well as the identity of the vehicle by using the emerging blockchain technique. The security credentials of untrustworthy vehicles will then be revoked by the RSU. We have conducted an extensive experimental study to evaluate the AIT system. Simulation results clearly indicate that AIT performs better than existing approaches and can manage the trust of vehicles and detect malicious ones in an accurate and efficient manner.

With the increase of the number of electric vehicles (EVs), it is of vital importance to develop the efficient and effective charging scheduling schemes for all the EVs. In this article, we aim to maximize the social welfare of all the EVs, charging stations (CSs) and power plant (PP), by taking into account the changing demand of each EV, the changing price, the capacity and the congestion balance between different CSs. To this end, two efficient scheduling algorithms, i.e., Centralized Charging Strategy (CCS) and Distributed Charging Strategy (DCS) are proposed. CCS has a slightly better performance than the DCS, as it takes all the information and make the decision in the central control unit. On the other hand, DCS dose not require the private information from EVs and can make decentralized decision. Extensive simulation are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms, in terms of the performance, congestion balance, and computing complexity.

The continuous data-flow application in the IoT integrates the functions of fog, edge, and cloud computing. Its typical paradigm is the E-Health system. Like other IoT applications, the energy consumption optimization of IoT devices in continuous data-flow applications is a challenging problem. Since the anomalous nodes in the network will cause the increase of energy consumption, it is necessary to make continuous data flows bypass these nodes as much as possible. At present, the existing research work related to the performance of continuous data-flow is often optimized from system architecture design and deployment. In this paper, a mathematical programming method is proposed for the first time to optimize the runtime performance of continuous data flow applications. A lightweight anomaly detection method is proposed to evaluate the reliability of nodes. Then the node reliability is input into the optimization algorithm to estimate the task latency. The latency-aware energy consumption optimization for continuous data-flow is modeled as a mixed integer nonlinear programming problem. A block coordinate descend-based max-flow algorithm is proposed to solve this problem. Based on the real-life datasets, the numerical simulation is carried out. The simulation results show that the proposed strategy has better performance than the benchmark strategy.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can provide remote data collection services with quality of service guarantees. The typical application fields include geographic information systems, such as topological survey and natural disasters and hazards monitoring. In the bad geographic environment, wireless communication performance of UAVs cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, the efficiency of remote data collection cannot be guaranteed. This paper proposes a collaborative framework of UAVs and fog computing for remote data collection. Our goal is to maximize the revenue of UAVs with the support of fog computing, so we need to find the optimal computation resources allocation and task assignment scheme. This is a mixed integer nonlinear programming problem. The block coordinate descent method is used to solve this problem, which allows the original problem to be divided into the optimal task assignment subproblem and the optimal computation resource allocation sub-problem. The greedy algorithm, heuristic algorithm and brute force algorithm are proposed to solve the optimal task assignment sub-problem. The convex optimization analysis method is used to solve the optimal resource allocation sub-problem. The genetic algorithm is used as a benchmark to compare with the heuristic-based block coordinate descent algorithm. The numerical simulation and network simulator based-simulation results show that the proposed UAV-Fog collaborative data collection problem can be efficiently solved by the block coordinate descent algorithm based on the heuristic strategy.
