This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of recent developments in face recognition, tracking, identification, and person detection technologies, highlighting the benefits and drawbacks of the available techniques. To assess the state-of-art in these domains, we reviewed more than one hundred eminent journal articles focusing on current trends and research gaps in machine learning and deep learning methods. A systematic review using the PRISMA method helped us to generalize the search for the most relevant articles in this area. Based on our screening and evaluation procedures, we found and examined 142 relevant papers, evaluating their reporting compliance, sufficiency, and methodological quality. Our findings highlight essential methods of person detection, tracking and identification, and face recognition tasks, emphasizing current trends and illustrating a clear transition from classical to deep learning methods with existing datasets, divided by task and including statistics for each of them. As a result of this comprehensive review, we agree that the results demonstrate notable improvements. Still, there remain several key challenges like refining model robustness under varying environmental conditions, including diverse lighting and occlusion; adaptation to different camera angles; and ethical and legal issues related to privacy rights.
This study developed models to solve problems of optimisation, production, and consumption in waste management based on methods of system analysis. Mathematical models of the problems of optimisation and sustainable waste management in deterministic conditions and in a fuzzy environment were formulated. The income from production was maximised considering environmental standards that apply to the field of macroeconomics and microeconomics. The proposed approach used MANAGER software to formalise and solve the problem of revenue optimisation with production waste management to optimise the production of oil products with waste management at a specific technological facility of the Atyrau oil refinery in Kazakhstan. Based on the combined application of the principles of maximin and Pareto optimality, a formulation of the problem of production optimisation with waste management was obtained and a heuristic algorithm for solving the formulated fuzzy optimisation problem with waste management was developed.
This paper presents a significant advancement in information security risk assessment by introducing a flexible and comprehensive model. The research integrates established standards, expert knowledge, machine learning, and ontological modeling to create a multifaceted approach for understanding and managing information security risks. The combination of standards and expert insights forms a robust foundation, ensuring a holistic grasp of the intricate risk landscape. The use of cluster analysis, specifically applying k-means on information security standards, expands the data-driven approach, uncovering patterns not discernible through traditional methods. The integration of machine learning algorithms in the creation of information security risk dendrogram demonstrates effective computational techniques for enhanced risk discovery. The introduction of a heat map as a visualization tool adds innovation, facilitating an intuitive understanding of risk interconnections and prioritization for decision makers. Additionally, a thesaurus optimizes risk descriptions, ensuring comprehensiveness and relevance despite evolving terminologies in the dynamic field of information security. The development of an ontological model for structured risk classification is a significant stride forward, offering an effective means of categorizing information security risks based on ontological relationships. These collective innovations enhance understanding and management of information security risks, paving the way for more effective approaches in the ever-evolving technological landscape.
The study aims to develop a system of models and a method for optimizing the operating modes of a catalytic reforming unit using fuzzy information, which makes it possible to effectively control the reforming process of the object under study. The object of study of this work is a catalytic reforming unit that has been operating for more than half a century and is characterized by the lack of clarity of some part of the initial information. The research methods are methods of system analysis, mathematical modeling, multicriteria optimization, and expert assessments, as well as methods of theories of fuzzy set theories, which allows formalizing and using fuzzy information, as well as experimental-statistical methods. As a result of the conducted research, the following main results were obtained. Based on a systematic approach, an effective methodology has been developed for developing a system of models of interconnected plant units using various types of available information, including fuzzy information. Using the proposed method, hybrid models have been developed to determine the volume of the produced catalyzate and its quality indicators. A scheme has been constructed for combining the developed models of the main units of the catalytic reforming unit into a single package of models. The built system of models makes it possible to systematically simulate the operation of the plant under study and improve the efficiency of the facility by increasing the volume of target products produced and improving its quality indicators. A statement of the problem of multicriteria optimization is obtained, taking into account the partial fuzziness of the initial information, and a heuristic method for its solution is developed, which is based on the use of knowledge, experience, and intuition of the decision-maker. The results of modeling and optimization show the effectiveness of the proposed fuzzy approach.
Sustainable management issues of waste during drilling oil wells in marine conditions, the process of disposal of drill cuttings in the conditions of deficiency, and fuzzy initial information using fuzzy inference system are investigated. Based on the conducted system analysis, the main criteria for controlling the process of re-injection of suspended drill cuttings were analyzed and selected. We described the technology of preparation and injection of drill cuttings slurry into the underground horizon. The method of modeling and management of the process of disposal of drilling cuttings in the marine environment in a fuzzy environment with the use of fuzzy inference system, which helps to overcome the problems of scarcity and fuzziness of the original information due to the knowledge and experience of experts are proposed. The scheme and structure of the elements of the fuzzy inference system based on the Mamdani algorithm are given. The implementation of the fuzzy output system procedure was carried out in MatLab using Fuzzy Logic Toolbox. For the purpose of sustainable waste management in the process of oil production of marine fields, waste management tasks are formulated as a fuzzy mathematical programming problem, which takes into account economic and environmental criteria and many production constraints that may be fuzzy. Since the vector of such criteria is characterized by inconsistency, the developed methods for solving the set tasks of sustainable management are based on various tradeoff schemes modified to work in a fuzzy environment. The novelty and originality of the developed methods lies in the fact that, unlike the well-known methods of similar methods for solving fuzzy problems, they are set and solved without conversion to a system of equivalent deterministic problems, with-out losing the main part of the collected fuzzy information. This allows, through the full use of the original fuzzy information, to obtain a more adequate solution to the fuzzy problem of the real problem under production conditions.
Methods for the development of fuzzy and linguistic models of technological objects, which are characterized by the fuzzy output parameters and linguistic values of the input and output parameters of the object are proposed. The hydrotreating unit of the catalytic reforming unit was investigated and described. On the basis of experimental and statistical data and fuzzy information from experts and using the proposed methods, mathematical models of a hydrotreating reactor and a hydrotreating furnace were developed. To determine the volume of production from the outlet of the reactor and furnace, nonlinear regression models were built, and fuzzy models were developed in the form of fuzzy regression equations to determine the quality indicators of the hydrotreating unit—the hydrogenated product. To identify the structure of the models, the ideas of sequential inclusion regressors are used, and for parametric identification, a modified method of least squares is used, adapted to work in a fuzzy environment. To determine the optimal temperature of the hydrotreating process on the basis of expert information and logical rules of conditional conclusions, rule bases are built. The constructed rule bases for determining the optimal temperature of the hydrotreating process depending on the thermal stability of the feedstock and the pressure in the hydrotreating furnace are implemented using the Fuzzy Logic Toolbox application of the MatLab package. Comparison results of data obtained with the known models, developed models and real, experimental data from the hydrotreating unit of the reforming unit are presented and the effectiveness of the proposed approach to modeling is shown.
