Surveying people via the Internet presents both opportunities and challenges. The opportunities include quick access to respondents all over the world enabling fast realization of surveys at low costs. The challenges include a lack of control over both the sampling process and research implementation, as well as low response rates. This article describes a method of obtaining an appropriate sample of people for survey research utilising the power of the Internet, while simultaneously allowing the researcher to minimise risk thanks to enhanced control over the sampling process and the implementation of the survey. The proposed method could be used mainly in economic and social surveys; it allows researchers to reach selected groups of respondents and to conduct surveys on a global scale. • The proposed sampling method uses LinkedIn's network structure to quickly reach a dispersed population • Creating a list of units belonging to the study population resembles the snowball method, though the units are selected for the sample by the researcher and not indicated by the respondents.

The Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) assumes the possibility of predicting and explaining humans’ behaviour by identifying their intentions. The intentions are shaped by three groups of factors: attitudes towards, social norms and perceived behavioural control over the behaviour. The aim of the research is to examine the applicability of the TPB in medical tourism and to check whether there are differences in predicting the intentions of medical tourists from different countries. The study covered potential medical tourists—521 young consumers from three regionally important markets in medical tourism services: Jordan, Poland and Turkey. The study used a research survey to collect data, which were analysed using the multiple regression and analysis of variance methods. The research showed that the TPB model can be used in medical tourism. The results also show that the consumers’ country of origin is a significant factor when predicting their intention to use medical tourism services.

Competitiveness of seaports is a matter of interest not only to the economists, but also businesses, governments and international organizations. This data article provides quantitative data from the survey research on factors of competitiveness of container ports as perceived by shipping lines. The data was collected from around the world using an online questionnaire distributed through LinkedIn. The spatial dispersion of respondents corresponds approximately to the structure of global maritime container trade. The data provides full responses from 120 respondents. Each respondent assessed the importance of 20 predefined competitiveness factors on a scale of 1 (least important) to 10 (most important). For each respondent two additional characteristics are known, the location (continent) and the size of the company for which he/she works, measured by the number of employees. The data were used for a research article to determine the ranking of competitiveness factors for container ports entitled "Key factors of container port competitiveness: A global shipping lines perspective" [1]. The data can be used for another research to uncover relationships between factors of competitiveness (through e.g. factor analysis, cluster analysis), both for the whole world and for groups by continents or the size of the company.

The present wicked challenges need novel and transdisciplinary solutions. Universities play important role in the process of developing innovation, but it requires a broad cooperation of different actors, including the civil society organizations. The latter is still a challenge. Therefore, this paper examining the potential, intentions and the constraints of collaboration with NGO sector in the Pomeranian region. The findings indicate that the lack of behavioral intention to cooperate on the part of an NGO is a major limitation and the barriers stem primarily from the respondents' perception of the low level of agency of their organizations.

Objectives: The challenges of the turbulent VUCA/BANI world, faced by modern organisations, have led to a different perception of the role of a leadership. The aim of this article is to identify the role of a leader in shaping employee behaviour in companies in the VUCA/BANI era.Material and methods: The study used a diagnostic survey method. In the first stage of the research, the questionnaire was filled in by employees of enterprises from various industries. The responses were then supplemented with the information gathered during in-depth interviews with managers of the selected organisations and further empirical analyses were conducted. Results: The leadership competencies necessary in crisis situations were identified thanks to an analysis of the literature on the subject and then it was examined how they influence the attitudes and behaviour of contemporary employees. The authors also diagnosed the characteristics and behaviours of leaders shaping both positive and negative attitudes as well as approaches of employees. Furthermore, the relationship between a leadership style and employee commitment was identified, and the dominant communication style in the supervisor-subordinate relationship in situations of uncertainty was determined. In addition, the authors identified the actions taken by leaders who prioritise the development of their team. The research is an attempt to answer the following question: what concept of leadership and what leadership opportunities and threats are present in contemporary organisations? Conclusions: The presented results may contribute to the popularisation of knowledge about leadership in the VUCA/BANI era, enrich the literature on the subject with practical issues concerning the formation of positive employee behaviour as well as contribute to further research on this issue.
