Onwuka Akachukwu Marytheresa is a scholar and licenced pharmacist with a Master's degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She is a lecturer in the above mentioned department. She joined the Natural Product Research Group (NAPREG) at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UNN in 2017. In 2021, she was awarded the University of Melbourne Research Scholarship for her PhD. Akachukwu is a member of the Australian Centre of Research Excellence in Malaria Elimination (ACREME), the British Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC) and a host of others. She is a young, astute researcher with over 8 years of research experience in natural product pharmacology. Her research interests include the extraction, isolation and characterization of pure compounds from natural products for pharmacological studies and immunology. She has successfully supervised eleven pharmacy students in their B. Pharm research. She is a prolific writer who has authored and co-authored several publications in reputable journals. She has also attended several conferences. She enjoys reading, writing, baking and listening to music in her free time.
