Américo Scotti, PhD, is a professor at University West, Sweden, and visiting professor at the Postgraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), Brazil. He is a senior and experienced researcher, especially in arc welding/deposition processes, working from their basics (arc physics) to their end-use (automation and parametric optimisation). He has recently been working on projects aiming at developing tech-niques to overcome challenges for the industrial application of wire + arc additive manufacturing processes.
