The present investigation deals with a comprehensive study on the production of aluminum based alloys with the incorporation of different alloying elements and their effect on its electrical conductivity and mechanical properties. Casting of pure aluminum with different concentration and combinations of alloying additives such as cupper (Cu), magnesium (Mg) and silver (Ag) were carried out using a graphite crucible. The as-cast microstructure was modified by hot rolling followed by different heat-treated conditions viz., annealing, normalizing, quenching, and age hardening. The mechanical properties and electrical conductivity of the produced heat-treated alloys sheets under various processing conditions were carried out using tensile testing, hardness, and electrical resistivity measurements. It was found that by increasing the alloying elements content, yield strength results increased significantly by more than 250% and 500% for the as rolled and 8 h aged Al-Cu-Mg alloy, respectively. On the other hand, the electrical conductivity reduces slightly with −14.6% and −16.57% for the as rolled and 8 h aged of the same Al-Cu-Mg alloy, respectively.

This paper reports a theoretical study on the magnetohydrodynamic flow and heat exchange of carbon nanotubes (CNTs)-based nanoliquid over a variable thicker surface. Two types of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are accounted for saturation in base fluid. Particularly, the single-walled and multi-walled carbon nanotubes, best known as SWCNTs and MWCNTs, are used. Kerosene oil is taken as the base fluid for the suspension of nanoparticles. The model involves the impact of the thermal radiation and induced magnetic field. However, a tiny Reynolds number is assumed to ignore the magnetic induction. The system of nonlinear equations is obtained by reasonably adjusted transformations. The analytic solution is obtained by utilizing a notable procedure called optimal homotopy analysis technique (O-HAM). The impact of prominent parameters, such as the magnetic field parameter, Brownian diffusion, Thermophoresis, and others, on the dimensionless velocity field and thermal distribution is reported graphically. A comprehensive discussion is given after each graph that summarizes the influence of the respective parameters on the flow profiles. The behavior of the friction coefficient and the rate of heat transfer (Nusselt number) at the surface (y = 0) are given at the end of the text in tabular form. Some existing solutions of the specific cases have been checked as the special case of the solution acquired here. The results indicate that MWCNTs cause enhancement in the velocity field compared with SWCNTs when there is an increment in nanoparticle volume fraction. Furthermore, the temperature profile rises with an increment in radiation estimator for both SWCNT and MWCNT and, finally, the heat transfer rate lessens for increments in the magnetic parameter for both types of nanotubes.

A numerical study was carried out to examine the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of micropolar fluid on a shrinking surface in the presence of both Joule heating and viscous dissipation effects. The governing system of non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) was obtained from the system of partial differential equations (PDEs) by employing exponential transformations. The resultant equations were transformed into initial value problems (IVPs) by shooting technique and then solved by the Runge–Kutta (RK) method. The effects of different parameters on velocity, angular velocity, temperature profiles, skin friction coefficient, and Nusselt number were obtained and demonstrated graphically. We observed that multiple solutions occurred in certain assortments of the parameters for suction on a surface. The stability analysis of solutions was performed, and we noted that the first solution was stable while the remaining two solutions were not. The results also showed that the velocity of the fluid increased as the non-Newtonian parameter rose in all solutions. Furthermore, it was detected that the temperature of fluid rose at higher values of the Eckert number in all solutions.

The present study investigates the combined influence of the nanoparticles and uniform magnetic field applied on the slip blood flow. Blood conveyed through the hollow arterial tube is described as a third-grade non-Newtonian fluid with time dependent viscosity and formulated by the second-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Therefore, the regular perturbation method as an approximate analytical method can be applied providing a solution to the coupled system of equations. The results obtained from the solution are used to show the effect of parameters including the magnetic parameter, the viscous dissipation and the pressure gradient on the slip blood flow. Analytical results reveal augmentation of the pressure gradient and the magnetic parameter decrease the velocity value whilst the viscous dissipation augmentation increases the temperature. Also, the comparison between the analytical results with the results obtained from numerical solution shows the good agreement.

The present article is devoted to examine the significance of double stratification in third grade stagnation point flow towards a radiative stretching cylinder. The stagnation point is discussed categorically. Analysis is scrutinized in the presence of Thermophoresis, Brownian diffusion, double stratification and heat source/sink. Suitable typical transformations are used to drive the system of ordinary differential equation. The governing system is subjected to optimal homotopy analysis method (OHAM) for convergent series solutions. The impact of pertinent fluid parameters on the velocity field, temperature distribution and concentration of the nanoparticles is shown graphically. Numerical data is compiled in tabulare form for skin friction, Nusselt and Sherwood numbers to analyze the variation caused by the present model and to see the impact for industrial and engineering point of view.

Entropy generation and dual solutions are rarely studied in the literature. An analysis is attempted here. More exactly, the present paper looks at the impact of radiation of a micropolar fluid on mixed convective flow containing the titanium alloy Ti6Al4V nanoparticle along with a Riga plate. The study of dual-nature solution for the entropy generation along a Riga surface was not being explored in the literature; therefore, the current model focuses on the dual solutions of this complex nature model. Riga surface is identified as an actuator of electromagnetic in which electrodes are accumulated alternatively. This array produces the behavior of electromagnetic hydrodynamic in the flow field. The transmuted leading equations were worked out through the formula of 3-stage Lobatto IIIA. Influences of exercising enormous parameters on temperature distribution, velocity, and micro rotation fields are portrayed and argued. More than one solution is achieved in opposing flow, while in the phenomenon of assisting flow result is unique. Moreover, due to the micropolar parameter, the separation of the boundary layer is decelerating. It is determined that the entire structure produces the dual-nature solution of the phenomenon of stagnation point flow, and the temperature profile behavior shows the significant enhancement in the thermal conductivity due to the addition of the nanoparticle. The results exposed that liquid velocity is enhanced, and micro rotation is decelerated, by improving the values of Hartmann numbers in both solutions, whereas the temperature field is decelerated in the first solution and accelerated in the second solution.
