Dr. Abu-Dieyeh achieved honor degrees for both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in biological sciences from Jordan University in Amman-Jordan. He obtained a PhD in plant science from McGill University, Canada, in 2006. During his PhD, Dr. Abu-Dieyeh was awarded the “Pest Management Research Graduate Student Award” in 2006 from the Canadian Society of Agronomy. He worked in teaching at several universities in Jordan. He joined The Hashemite University, Zarqa, Jordan, in 2006 as an Assistant Professor and chaired the Department of Biology and Biotechnology for three years, before being promoted to Associate Professor in 2012. He moved to Qatar University in September 2013 and was appointed as a Graduate Program Coordinator. He has been the Department Head since 2019. Dr. Abu-Dieyeh's research expertise includes applied ecology, focusing on plant microbial interactions, weed biology and biocontrol, and plant growth promotion using applications of rhizobacteria and mycorrhizae. Recently, Dr. Abu-Dieyeh led and participated in an environmental research project related to the reuse of wastewater in addition to microbial bioremediation and phytoremediation of heavy metals in polluted soil and/or water. He has been granted several external and internal grants, seven as Lead PI, two as Co-PI, and three as PI. In April 2018, he and his team were awarded the First Prize of Qatar National Research Funds of the 10th QNRF annual undergraduate research experience program.
