Abdel-Hamid Soliman is a Professor of Signal Processing and Communication at Staffordshire University and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has over 33 years of experience in both academic and industrial fields.His multi-disciplinary academic and research experience spans digital signal processing, telecommunications, data acquisition systems, wireless sensor networks (WSN), the Internet of Things (IoT), fibre optics communication, and image/video processing. He is dedicated to harnessing and integrating different technologies to implement smart systems that contribute to smart cities and real-life applications. His research activities are not limited to the national level within the UK but extend internationally to numerous partner universities in various countries. His research has produced over 80 refereed articles. In addition to his research activities, he is involved in several enterprise projects and consultancy activities for national and international companies. Since 2007, he has led and participated in several externally funded projects at national, European, and international levels, totalling more than £20M.
