Coffee (Coffea arábica L.) is a fundamental agricultural commodity in the Brazilian economy, demanding a high amount of nutrients for good vegetative development and productivity. The tested hypothesis was that the use of the organomineral fertilizer promotes coffee production and development due to the greater availability of N, P, and K in the soil. The objective of this study was: (i) to monitor the use efficiency of the organomineral fertilizer rates; (ii) to determine the coffee production and development with the organomineral application. A study was developed with applications of four organomineral rates (75%, 100%, 125%, and 150% of the recommended P2O5 rate), three forms of parceling (one, two, and three applications of the organomineral fertilizer), and one control (100% mineral). Yield, soil, leaves, and plant development were monitored. Results showed that organomineral presented a win-win scenario with adequate disposal of residues and sources of nutrients in agriculture promoting the coffee yield from 49.5 (mineral fertilizers) to 53.5 sc ha-1 (100% of P2O5 in organomineral). The plant height, the diameter of the stem, and the canopy presented a quadratic response to organomineral rates with optimal rates fitted at 127; 140; and 140 %, respectively, but there was no direct effect on yield. The split organomineral applications promoted the contents of P and K in the soil, mainly when associated with higher organomineral rates. The K efficiency use was increased with organomineral application indicating the K was used with more efficiency. Key words: Fertilization; vegetative development; fertilizers; nutrients.

Maize has a high nutritional requirement, especially regarding NPK fertilization. However, conventional fertilization with these nutrients presents a high loss potential, mainly by volatilization, leaching, adsorption, and fixation, which may reflect on the development and yield of maize plants. Using fertilizers with increased efficiency seeks to mitigate these limitations, reducing potential losses due to gradual nutrient release. This study aimed to compare the nutrition, growth, and production of maize plants subjected to different doses and special NPK fertilizers fully applied at planting and their residual effect on the soil. It was a randomized block design in a 3x4 factorial scheme with four replications. The first factor consisted of conventional mineral, polymer-coated, and organomineral + PGPB fertilizers. The second factor included doses of 0, 60, 90, and 120 kg ha-¹ of NPK. The study evaluated vegetative growth, foliar nutrition (N, P, and K), yield growth components, productivity, profitability, and residual K content in the soil after cultivation. The conventional mineral fertilizer produced more dry biomass in the aerial part. Profitability was similar between conventional and special fertilizers. However, the latter performed better overall in vegetative and productive growth, showing a potential reduction of the applied doses without compromising grain yield, especially in organomineral + PGPB fertilization. This treatment also presented a higher residual effect of K on the soil.

The use of different phosphate sources for Urochloa brizantha species in compacted soils can be evidenced through growth variables. In this context, the objective was to evaluate the effect of different sources of phosphorus on the growth of plants of Urochloa brizantha cv. Marandu in a soil with different degrees of compaction in the subsurface layer at different times of the year. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, with an experimental unit in a randomized block design arranged in a 2 x 4 factorial scheme, with four replications, referring to two degrees of compaction, 65% - uncompacted soil and 85% - compacted soil; and four sources of phosphate fertilization: control treatment without fertilization, Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP), Pelleted Organomineral (OMP) and Granulated Organomineral (OMG). At 120 days for the winter period and 90 days for the summer period after sowing, analyzes of chlorophyll a/b content were evaluated, number of leaves, number of tillers, plant height, dry matter of the part aerial and root dry matter. The increase in the degree of soil compaction causes damage to root growth and consequently to the aerial part of the Urochloa briznatha species. Phosphate fertilization using slow release sources contributed to the growth analysis responses of the species Urochloa brizantha. soil compaction, providing better results in compacted soils in growth analysis at both times of the year.
