Pharmacist, Master Degree in Pharmacology, and PhD in Biotechnology of Natural Resources. Associate Professor of Biophysics at the Federal University of Piauí (Teresina, Brazil). My research activities have been devoted to the preclinical pharmacology and toxicology of natural and synthetic- derivative products, mainly focused on novel bioproducts with potential applications in treating cardiovascular diseases, e.g., diabetes, dyslipidemia, and hypertension, and unraveling the probable mechanisms underlying these effects. Employed techniques have concerned the measurement of isometric tension on isolated aortic and superior mesenteric artery rings for studies involving vascular reactivity, endothelial function, and oxidative stress in experimental models of diabetes, dyslipidemia, and hypertension in rodents.
