Information

Mr. Hanwen Chung is currently a PhD candidate in the Institute of IME Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling at RWTH Aachen University. His research focuses on the reduction and refining of (high purity) Tellurium. Dr.-Ing. Semiramis Friedrich is the group leader, lecturer, senior researcher and doctoral supervisor in the Institute of IME Process Metallurgy and metal Recycling at RWTH Aachen University. Her research mainly focuses on high-purity metal, melt crystallization, and metal purification and recycling. Her work has been published in leading materials science journals and presented at international conferences. Prof. Dr. Ing. Dr. h.c. Dr. E.h. Bernd Friedrich is a full professor and head in the Institute of IME Process Metallurgy and metal Recycling at RWTH Aachen University. His research mainly focuses on extractive metallurgy (pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy), vacuum metallurgy, metal refining and purification, and applied electrochemistry. He is developing production technologies of scrap conditioning/recycling, residue minimization and waste processing, such strongly contributing to the global "circular economy" targets.
