Smart grid (SG) application is being used nowadays to meet the demand of increasing power consumption. SG application is considered as a perfect solution for combining renewable energy resources and electrical grid by means of creating a bidirectional communication channel between the two systems. In this paper, three SG applications applicable to renewable energy system, namely, distribution automation (DA), distributed energy system-storage (DER) and electrical vehicle (EV), are investigated in order to study their suitability in Long Term Evolution (LTE) network. To compensate the weakness in the existing scheduling algorithms, a novel bandwidth estimation and allocation technique and a new scheduling algorithm are proposed. The technique allocates available network resources based on application’s priority, whereas the algorithm makes scheduling decision based on dynamic weighting factors of multi-criteria to satisfy the demands (delay, past average throughput and instantaneous transmission rate) of quality of service. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed mechanism achieves higher throughput, lower delay and lower packet loss rate for DA and DER as well as provide a degree of service for EV. In terms of fairness, the proposed algorithm shows 3%, 7 % and 9% better performance compared to exponential rule (EXP-Rule), modified-largest weighted delay first (M-LWDF) and exponential/PF (EXP/PF), respectively.

Long term evolution-advanced (LTE-A) system introduces carrier aggregation (CA) technique to improve the user throughput by aggregating multiple component carriers (CCs). Previous research works related to downlink radio resource allocation with carrier aggregation have not considered the delay factor and the error probability. Therefore, the previous methods are unable to provide better quality of service (QoS) compared to the LTE-A standard. This paper considers the radio resource management problem by zooming into the head of line delay, probability of packet loss, and the delay threshold for different types of data. In doing this, several constraints are imposed following the specifications of LTE-A system. Hence, an improved method is developed in this study to enhance the system throughput and to maintain the computational complexity. Extensive simulations were carried out with other well-known methods to verify the overall performance of the proposed method. The result obtained indicates that the proposed method outperforms the previous methods in the measurement of average user throughput, average cell throughput, fairness index, and spectral efficiency.

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the prominent technology in Fourth Generation (4G) communication standards, which provides higher throughput and better Quality of Service (QoS) to all users. However, users in the cell-edge area are receiving comparatively low QoS due to the distance from eNodeB (eNB) and bad channel conditions. The Conventional Modified Largest Weighted Delay First (MLWDF) algorithm is unable to resolve this issue, as it does not consider the location of the user. This paper proposes an extended MLWDF (EMLWDF) downlink scheduling algorithm to provide better services to the cell-edge user as well as to the cell-center user. The proposed algorithm divides the eNB cell area into inner and outer regions. It includes the distance of the user from attached eNB, received Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) and error probability into the original algorithm. The simulated results are compared with other well-known algorithms and the comparison shows that the proposed algorithm enhances overall 56.23% of cell-edge user throughput and significantly improves the average user throughput, fairness index, and spectral efficiency.

Timely, balanced, and transparent detection of retinal diseases is essential to avert irreversible vision loss; however, current deep learning screeners are hampered by class imbalance, large models, and opaque reasoning. This paper presents a lightweight attention-augmented convolutional neural network (CNN) that addresses all three barriers. The network combines depthwise separable convolutions, squeeze-and-excitation, and global-context attention, and it incorporates gradient-based class activation mapping (Grad-CAM) and Grad-CAM++ to ensure that every decision is accompanied by pixel-level evidence. A 5335-image ten-class color-fundus dataset from Bangladeshi clinics, which was severely skewed (17–1509 images per class), was equalized using a synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) and task-specific augmentations. Images were resized to 150×150 px and split 70:15:15. The training used the adaptive moment estimation (Adam) optimizer (initial learning rate of 1×10−4, reduce-on-plateau, early stopping), ℓ2 regularization, and dual dropout. The 16.6 M parameter network converged in fewer than 50 epochs on a mid-range graphics processing unit (GPU) and reached 87.9% test accuracy, a macro-precision of 0.882, a macro-recall of 0.879, and a macro-F1-score of 0.880, reducing the error by 58% relative to the best ImageNet backbone (Inception-V3, 40.4% accuracy). Eight disorders recorded true-positive rates above 95%; macular scar and central serous chorioretinopathy attained F1-scores of 0.77 and 0.89, respectively. Saliency maps consistently highlighted optic disc margins, subretinal fluid, and other hallmarks. Targeted class re-balancing, lightweight attention, and integrated explainability, therefore, deliver accurate, transparent, and deployable retinal screening suitable for point-of-care ophthalmic triage on resource-limited hardware.

Today is the age of fast and automated system. In every part of our live we want the automated system. In communication system, this automated system is vastly needed. Now Bluetooth is compatible for large Scale sensor network. Bluetooth device is also very cheap and available. So we can use this technology in many practical cases in our country. We know flood destroy our poor country every year for lack of information about the rivers. So if we can monitor the rivers properly and timely we can overcome this destruction. To monitor these rivers we can use sensor network with the help of Bluetooth. If we can establish the sensor nodes that are integrated with Bluetooth in the river side we can easily monitor the rivers timely and properly. By this we can setup an automated river monitoring system using sensor network.

The scheduling algorithm of Long Term Evolution (LTE) is responsible for allocating the resource blocks (RB) efficiently to the end users. Different algorithms have different impact to the network in terms of throughputs, spectral efficiency, and fairness. However, previous algorithms are unable to enhance the cell-edge user performance due to the unawareness of the location of user and user congestion in the cell area. This paper proposes a downlink scheduling algorithm based on modified Exponential Proportional Fairness (EXP/PF) algorithm to improve the performance of the cell-edge user and all other users in the cell. The cell is divided into two regions namely outer and inner to differentiate the user in this proposed algorithm. It considers Received Signal Strength (RSS), a threshold value based on user congestion in the regions and the distance between eNodeB (eNB) and user. The obtained system-level simulation results show that the proposed algorithm significantly improves the cell-edge user throughput along with average user throughput, cell throughput, spectral efficiency and fairness index compared with the other existing algorithms.
