Dr. Martha Georgina Orozco Medina is a professor and researcher in the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University Center for Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the University of Guadalajara. She obtained her Ph.D. at the University of Valencia. She has been honored with the Ecological Merit Award by SEMARNAT in 2008, the Juan Luis Cifuentes Lemus Medal for academic activity, and the Award for Innovative Teaching Practice. She has published numerous articles, books, and chapters related to pollution and environmental health. She is an active member and part of the steering committee of SETAC (The Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry) and is a former president of the College of Biologists of Jalisco. She coordinates projects on pollution and environmental health, air quality, noise, and environmental health. She teaches research methodology in the master's program in environmental health and the doctoral program in occupational health.
