Hydropower is a superior energy extraction approach, which has been made to work based on renewable energy sources. In the generation of hydropower, Gravitational Vortex Hydropower (GVHP) plays a predominant contributor role because of its free turbulence-relayed energy utilization concept and flexible as well as compact size. Owing to the huge contribution of GVHP in the hydropower sector, multi-objective-based investigations have emerged. However, there is still insufficient literature available for the technology to precede optimum turbine blade design. Two important categories are involved in these multidisciplinary investigations, in which the first phase, a numerical investigation has been done using ANSYS to identify the location of maximum tangential velocity in a conical basin with different notch angles, conical angles, basin shapes, anddiameters. In this second phase, the focal aim is to carry out the numerical investigation on Gravitation Vortex Turbine Blades (GVTB) for the different geometry in order to get the optimum power output with a high structural lifetime through HSI (Hydro–Structural Interaction) computation. The entire conceptual designs of this SGVHP and its hydro-rotors are modeled with the help of CATIA. ANSYS Fluent is a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) numerical tool, which is primarily used in this paper for all the hydrodynamic analyses. Finally, the standard analytical approaches are used for the comparative determinations of thrust production by hydro-rotors, power extraction by hydro-rotors, and propulsive efficiency for the selection process of best hydro-rotors. HSI analyses are additionally carried out and thereby the suitable lightweight material is picked.

The major use and need of the multi-rotor UAV in various fields has increased the importance to study the aerodynamics of multi-rotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles such as the secondary flow over the blade, reduction of noise due to the propeller of the UAV, and the optimization of the design on the propeller with more blades to increase efficiency of the UAV. This paper mainly deals with the reduction of noise which is induced by the propeller. Since there is a demand for compact multi-rotor quite UAV as it has a low probability of detection using radar and infrared but as it generates high drive-line noise caused by propeller it cannot be implemented for some critical applications. As a result, an idea is launched to design a propeller with low drive-line noise levels. A methodology is developed to design a low noise as well as efficient propellers for multi-rotor UAVs. The important parameters like blade thickness, tip loss and blade loading are considered in this research. Also, the effects of propeller important parameters such as activity factor, advance ratio are considered. After the finalization of design consideration of UAV’s propeller and the furthermore noise reduction methodologies also studied such as leading-edge comb, trailing edge tuft, and upper surface porosity in order to generate a perfect UAV for military applications. In order to minimize the noise produced by the propeller the idea of modifying the leading-edges is finalized. Computer-AidedDesign of base propeller and propeller with leading-edge modifications has been generated with the help of CATIA V5 and the acoustic analysis for the static base and propellers with leading-edge modifications with different velocities has been simulated using ANSYS Workbench Fluent 16.2. Finally, a propeller with the leading-edge modification has been found to induce low noise. Keywords: Noise, CFD, Decibel, Propeller, Quite UAV.

The conceptual design, component selection, and deployment experiments of an unmanned amphibious system (US) with a unique Becker in vertical stabilizer based on hydrodynamic research are included in this work. The use of USs is currently expanding significantly, and they are used for fish detection, oceanographic mapping, mining detection, monitoring marine life, and navy purposes. With a maximum forward speed of 30 m/s, the US’s hull is largely built with criteria for identifying and researching marine species. The significant lifetime decline of ocean species drives the deployment of unmanned vehicles for species monitoring from the water’s surface to 300 m below the surface. In addition, the medical team can help the species with health problems using this planned US because they have been identified. The conceptual design and estimated analytical equations encompass the fuselage, Becker rudder, propeller, and other sub-components. The locations of sensors, primarily used to locate mobile marine life, are also considered. A Becker rudder has been imposed to make sharp turns when the US is submerged in water. An advanced hydro propeller produces the propulsion with a 20 cm base diameter. Additionally, a piezoelectric patching-based energy extracting approach is used to the hydro-outside propeller’s surface. As a result, the electrical power generation for different lightweight materials is computed for the performance of US manoeuvrings. With the help of CATIA modelling of the intended USs and ANSYS Fluent hydrodynamic simulations, appropriate high-speed configurations are selected. Various stages of its mission profile, including the US in steady-level flight, the US in climb, and the US over the ocean surface, are subjected to computational simulations. Using an advanced computational technique and previously established experimental correlations, the reliability of these various computational solutions is examined and kept at an appropriate level. This US is highly suggested for marine-based real-time applications due to its acceptable output.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are gaining in popularity and sophistication in today’s modern world. UAVs are now available in a wide range of configurations. A UAV’s many applications include aerial photography and videography and target tracking. The upward-pointing propellers of some modern fixed-wing UAVs make it possible for them to take off and land vertically. Surveillance and intruder inspections are two areas where the blended wing body (BWB) configuration shines. This is because its weight is spread uniformly throughout the body, its radar signal is weaker than that of alternative configurations, and there is a relatively small amount of interference with its movement. With common design factors in mind, like vertical takeoff and landing, aerodynamic drag, and fundamental wing stability, the optimal BWB plan form for surveillance is designed. CATIA is used to finish the conceptual design of the BWB-based UAV. A fluid-structure interaction (FSI) study is carried out after the model has been examined in ANSYS Fluent. The UAV’s responsiveness is improved through simulation in the MATLAB environment after a proportional-integral-derivative-type altitude controller was developed. The results demonstrate that providing the UAV with an altitude instruction enhances its performance. Given the flexibility of the suggested BWB UAV’s design, we have decided to limit its maximum forward speed to 75 m/s and its maximum rate of vertical ascension to 50 m/s. Rapid BWB UAVs like the one seen here are quite helpful in dangerous situations.

Nozzles are used to produce thrust in airplanes, rockets, and even satellites. Different designs are employed for various applications. For propelling satellites in space, High Area Ratio supersonic nozzles (A.R. > 100) are used. During ground tests of these nozzles, it is found that a shock wave is formed and flow tends to separate in divergent section. A second throat ejector diffuser system (STED) is employed to simulate ambient vacuum conditions at high altitudes, in sea level, around the nozzle. This vacuum level is maintained throughout the test times and is used for smooth expansion of the gas across the nozzle without flow separation. The Shockwaves formed in the diffuser help in maintaining the desired lowpressure levels and reduce the flow velocity and increase the pressure. A High Area Ratio nozzle (A.R.= 114) and a Second Throat Diffuser are designed and modeled together. The flow analysis is carried out using CFD and the pressure, velocity and temperature variations in the nozzle and diffuser are studied. The diffuser design is then optimized, by varying different parameters of the diffuser, and analysis is carried out for each design in order to obtain full flow in the nozzle and the diffuser. The design of the diffuser must be such that the flow in the nozzle must be stable and should provide a suitable pressure recovery with the reduction in flow velocity. After the diffuser design is finalized, performance analysis of the diffuser is carried out, along with the nozzle, in order to achieve the working conditions of the diffuser.

The use of energy resources has been critical to the advancement of human civilisation. Finding a reliable energy source is one of the most difficult tasks of the twenty-first century. Natural gas, coal, and other conventional energy sources have hastened the industrialization and modernisation of several countries. However, there is widespread concern that the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere from these traditional sources is the leading cause of climate change. Increased pollution, flooding, drought, rising sea levels, high temperatures, and other effects of climate change have a significant impact on the environment. As a result, current research is focusing on renewable and sustainable energy sources. Hydro energy is a low-cost and environmentally friendly way to generate electricity. Even still, the vast majority of hydroelectric energy remains underutilised. Hydrostatic and hydrodynamic methods are the two most common approaches for extracting energy from water. The Gravitational Vortex Hydropower (GVHP) with Hydro-Rotor is one such renewable turbine. By routing the water into a GVHP basin, which generates a water vortex on its inside surface while it runs, the mechanical energy of free-flowing water is converted to kinetic energy in this GVHP. The major goal of this study is to investigate the flow field characteristics of a GVHP numerically for various geometrical variables such as basin diameter, cone angle, and notch angle. CATIA is used to create several geometric models, which are then simulated using a commercial (computational fluid dynamics) CFD application. Different geometric factors of conical basin design were studied using computational hydrodynamic analysis, and their impacts on vortex generation and tangential velocity in the study region are recorded. The maximum tangential velocity derived from different basin geometry can be used to forecast the performance of the GVHP. Finally the optimized GVHP along with its dimensions such as cone angle of 14O, a notch angle of 13O, and a basin diameter of 1000 mm are found out and suggested for real-time applications.
