Waleed Ahmed is an Assistant Professor in the College of Engineering at United Arab Emirates University. He completed his PhD studies at Al-Mustansiriya University in a joint venture with the University of Nottingham. His main interests include renewable energy, nanomaterials, failure analysis, FEA, fracture mechanics, forensic engineering, composite recycling, and e-learning. He was awarded the prestigious UAEU Chancellor Innovation Award six times for different categories and was awarded the UAEU Chancellor's Award for Institutional Excellence in 2020 as the Best Innovative Employee. He has 112 publications with 1404 citations and an h-index of 18 (11 December 2023).
