Background: It has been estimated that between 30 and 50 per cent of all injuries that take place throughout participation in a sport are the consequence of soft tissue injuries, and muscle injuries are the primary cause of physical disability. Methods: The current literature review was designed between October 2021 and April 2022, according to the PRISMA standards, using the PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases. At the screening stage, we eliminated articles that did not fit into the themes developed in all subchapters of the study (n = 70), articles that dealt exclusively with orthopaedics (n = 34), 29 articles because the articles had only the abstract visible, and 17 articles that dealt exclusively with other techniques for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. The initial search revealed 343 titles in the databases, from which 56 duplicate articles were automatically removed, and 2 were added from other sources. Results: The combination of these three techniques results in the following advantages: It increases joint mobility, especially in stiff joints, it increases the range of motion, accelerates tissue repair, improves tissue stability, and extensibility, and it reduces soft tissue inflammation (manual therapy). In addition, it decreases the concentration of pro-inflammatory mediators and improves capillary permeability, resulting in the total eradication of inflammation (HILT). It warms the deep tissues, stimulates vascularity, promotes the repose of tissues (particularly muscle tissue), and stimulates drainage (TECAR). Conclusions: TECAR therapy, combined with manual therapy and High-Intensity Laser therapy in treating muscle diseases, presented optimal collaboration in the recovery process of all muscle diseases.

Currently, sports activities require a high reaction speed, coordination, and balance, highlighting the relationship between proprioceptive control, visual control, and hand–eye coordination in youth. The present research assessed the proprioceptive control, reaction speed, and lower limb balance of youth from five different schools to identify the level of physical preparation of children in this direction. This prospective study was conducted between 1 January 2020 and 29 February 2020. A total of 107 healthy children (33 females and 74 males) with appropriate medical conditions, aged between 14 and 15 years, from five Romanian schools were included in the experiment. All children were assessed for visual control and reaction speed with the ruler drop test, and for lower limb balance, the standing stork test was used. Statistical analysis included descriptive statistics, data series distribution, and comparison of means and medians using specific statistical programs. Comparison of medians highlighted significant statistical differences in the standing stork test with eyes closed and the dominant leg compared with the nondominant leg (p = 0.0057). Males were compared to females at the nondominant leg (p = 0.0179); closed eyes were compared with opened eyes for the nondominant leg (p = 0.0175 and 0.0006) for the ruler drop test comparing the dominant hand with the nondominant hand (p = 0.0212). Children who engage in sports activities better integrated sensory information in motor action execution based on reaction speed and coordination with the nondominant hand.

Leisure sport activities have an important role inmaintaining health and physical fitness at adults, but also being more and more used for different other reasons like socialization, communication, making new friends and relationships, self-image, challenge etc. Our study focused on finding the main necessities of adults regarding leisure sport activities, discovering the real reasons of practicing sport activities in their free time. So, using the questionnaire method, we asked 204 adults of their real necessities regarding leisure sport activities and why they practice specific sports in their free time. The results showed that different sports are practiced for different necessities, so the practitioners of volleyball game highlighted the necessities of socialization and communication, the football practitioners had chosen movement and competition necessities as main reasons for practicing sport, basketball players elected affiliation and maintain health necessities as primordial, fitness or gym practitioners affirmed that main reasons for practicing sport activities are self-image and satisfaction necessities. The conclusions of the study were that indifferent of the sport that is practiced, leisure sport activities contributes in fulfilling the adult necessities and is an important way of maintain physical, social and psychological progress

Background: The level of anxiety can influence the performance obtained by the group and can also affect the communication and cohesion of the team. Recent studies proved that a high level of anxiety could lead to failure in sports performance and disturbance in group relationships. Aim: The study aimed to analyze and reduce the level of anxiety in a basketball team U18 of CSM Medias, following the idea that reducing the personal anxiety level of each player can lead to better group cohesion and performance. Methods: The research methods used in our experiment were the SCAT questionnaire and psychological therapy, that analyzed the level of anxiety in sports competition. Results: The results of the investigation showed that after discovering the initial level of anxiety (22.42), using the SCAT questionnaire, and by performing several sessions of psychological therapy and group therapy, we managed to reduce the anxiety level at the final examination (20.83). Also, we achieved an improvement in group cohesion and communicational level. Conclusions: Anxiety level can affect group performance and team results; our study highlighted the idea that the early discovery of malfunction in group collaboration and also in individual anxiety levels can lead to better team performance and also improve the cohesion and communication level.

Background/Objectives: This study’s primary goals are to evaluate the effects of physical therapy on motor delays in children with Down Syndrome, identify the most successful interventions, look at current trends in the field, and suggest future directions for clinical and research development by reviewing the scientific literature published over the past ten years. Methods: Using reputable databases, including PubMed, ScienceDirect, CENTRAL (Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials), PEDro (Physiotherapy Evidence Database), Web of Science, and NIH, an electronic search of scholarly literature was carried out between January and April 2025. To organise the findings and select the most pertinent papers, a search strategy was required. Results: The studies analysed provide a complex picture of how different types of physical therapy interventions affect children and adolescents with Down syndrome. Conclusions: Physical therapy interventions suggest greater effectiveness during the early stages of motor development in children with Down Syndrome; however, the evidence, based on six heterogeneous studies, remains moderate and does not support definitive recommendations. In clinical practice, physical therapists are advised to design individualised programmes that address specific needs, utilising traditional therapies, online training, or movement stimulation techniques, and to systematically monitor their outcomes.

Background: Smartphones are an integral part of young people’s everyday lives and offer an interactive digital environment that can be incorporated into sport training to support engagement and skill development. Methods: A total of 40 male basketball players aged 12–14 years participated in this quasi-experimental study. Participants were allocated by existing school teams, with one team assigned to the experimental group (n = 20) and the other to the control group (n = 20). Both groups completed a six-month training period consisting of three sessions per week. Hand–eye coordination and dribbling-related performance were evaluated using two standardized mobile-application-based field tests with both hands during initial and final assessments. The data were analyzed using mixed-design repeated-measures ANOVA, with time as the within-subject factor and group as the between-subject factor. Results: The mixed-design repeated-measures ANOVA showed significant time × group interactions for all assessed outcomes, indicating greater improvements in coordination performance and bilateral upper-limb performance in the experimental group compared with the control group. Conclusions: These results indicate that mobile-application-based training can be a practical and effective approach for developing coordination and supporting bilateral upper-limb performance in youth basketball players.
