Dr. Samukaite-Bubniene completed her doctorate in physical chemistry with a theoretical and practical combination of photoluminescence of enzyme/polymer systems for biosensor applications at Vilnius University in 2015. Topics in sensors, biofuel cells, bioelectronics, polymeric molecules, and nanotechnology are further developed in the Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences, Department of Physical Chemistry. In parallel, after the investigations in the field of electrochemistry, she joined the department of functional materials and electronics at the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC) in 2018, where she has been working on the smart membranes project and DNA-based biosensors based on DNA-modifying enzymes. Knowledge about sensing systems led her to enter the R&D field and work with the industry. Since 2020, she has held a postdoctoral position at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Department of Mechatronics, Robotics, and Digital Manufacturing.
