PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Senior researcher at the Politecnico di Bari (Italy) where he teaches Technologies for Environmental Protection as part of the degree course in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is deputy coordinator of the degree course in Civil and Environmental Engineering and member of the PhD council in Risk and Environmental, Territorial and Building development at the Politecnico di Bari. His research activities are in the field of waste recycling, remediation of contaminated sites and development of waste-derived materials. He has scientific responsibility for several projects at the Politecnico di Bari that have been awarded following competitive calls for proposals by the Italian Ministry of University (MIUR) and the European Commission, such as MultIFunctional poLymer cOmposites based on groWn matERials (MI-FLOWER) project (2017B7MMJ5) and Sustainable Solid WAste management and Policies (SWAP) project (618723-EPP-1-2020-1-DE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP). He is author of more than 140 scientific publications, 80 of which are indexed on Scopus and ISI Web-of-Science databases; he has been speaker at more than 70 international and national conferences and workshops and has more than 2700 citations (H-index 21, Scopus). He serves as a reviewer for the most important journals in the environmental sector, and has been awarded several times at the Global Peer Review Awards by Publons (Clarivate Analytics) and by Elsevier (2018 Waste Management).
