Nowadays, the land forces of the Republic of Poland use mainly two forms of powering their equipment and military devices: by connecting various devices to the national power grid and by diesel-electric generators of individual vehicles. With the first solution, power cuts have to be taken into account. In the latter case, it is necessary to ensure large fuel deliveries on a timely manner. It entails a search for new solutions able to effectively meet the needs of an individual soldier and command posts. It has inspired engineers to work on renewable energy sources. This review paper presents a concept for photovoltaic cells usage and a concept for air turbines used to charge electric power sources of different powers for the individual needs of soldiers and command posts. Examples of solutions for mobile energy systems are presented in the research work. They were verified in terms of their suitability for military applications. The concept of using a personal device to supply power for charging batteries and elements of individual soldier equipment, including low-power radio stations, has been presented as well.

This article proposes a new form of compact electrothermal model of impulse transformers. The proposed model is dedicated for use with SPICE and it is formulated in the network form. It simultaneously takes into account electrical, thermal, and magnetic phenomena occurring in the considered device. Nonlinearity of the core magnetization characteristics and nonlinearity of the heat transfer efficiency are taken into account in this model. The form of the proposed model is shown. Equations of the presented model are given. Experimental verification of the proposed model is performed for selected impulse transformers. Selected results of the performed investigations are presented.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję wykorzystania ogniw fotowoltaicznych – PV i turbin wiatrowych do ładowania elektrycznych źródeł zasilania małej mocy, wykorzystywanych w urządzeniach elektronicznych będących na wyposażeniu żołnierza. Zaproponowano koncepcje miniaturowej elektrowni do zasilania urządzeń elektronicznych w warunkach polowych.

In this work, we present a new graphene-based sensor designed to monitor a set of photovoltaic panels on a sound-absorbing screen in terms of their potential mechanical damage. The innovative design of the photovoltaic module and consequently its sound-reflecting and sound-absorbing parameters play a vital role. The light transmittance of the sensor layer composed of graphene flakes in a cellulose matrix, confirmed by optical studies, allows its use directly over the photovoltaic cells. All the sensors are interconnected with metallic connections to reduce their internal resistance on larger surfaces. The sensor state is monitored through the resistance value as a zero-one operation/damaged response. Two sensor damage, scenarios, repetitive scratching, and cutting-out were described. The sensor measurements were performed in the potential ranging from 2.1 to 51.1 V, and the current response allowed to calculate the total resistance. The change in sensor resistance ranged between 9.3 and 24.1%, depending on the damaged area. The resistance for the scratched surface oscillated between 25 and 26 Ω, whereas the cut-out surface showed values more than 1.5 times higher. The proposed sensor based on graphene, cellulose, and ethylene–vinyl acetate allows the registration of immediate information about the destruction or theft of a power node.

The paper reviews the literature on energy harvesting in the environment (energy harvesting - EH). The focus was on obtaining EH energy from low-power sources. As a result, there are limitations in using harvesting for electronic devices that are characterized by a low power consumption. The factory solutions of semiconductor systems using components for obtaining energy from the environment were reviewed. The concept of using EH energy for military applications was proposed.
