A near field scanning is usually time-consuming to map the electromagnetic field along the surface of a device. In this paper, a dual probe is proposed with a U-shaped loop to sense radio-frequency (RF) magnetic and electric fields simultaneously, so that the one-time scanning by the dual probe can replace the two-time scanning by single detector probes. Different from the traditional near field scanning by using a single detector probe and spectrum analyzer, the proposed scanning can be achieved by the two-output probe and a two-port vector network analyzer connecting to the probe. The efficient near field scanning measurements of the electric and magnetic field on a conductorbacked coplanar waveguide transmission line and an RF power divider by using the dual probe are in agreement with those by using two single detector probes.
In this paper, an ultrawideband differential magnetic near field probe with high electric field suppression is developed. A pair of differential loops, via fence and shielding vias below the loops are designed to reduce the electric field coupling. It is shown that the electric field suppression of the proposed magnetic-field probe is higher than 30 dB up to 12.9 GHz and 21 dB up to 14 GHz. Due to the differential loops and shielding vias, the proposed magnetic-field probe shows better electric field suppression and sensitivity performance, while maintaining similar spatial resolution. Two other probes with single loop for sensing and without shielding vias are prepared for comparison.
This paper presents a noncontact radio frequency voltage sensing of a printed trace by using a capacitive-coupled probe. The noncontact voltage sensing is demonstrated by using an open-end coaxial probe, and achieved through the transfer factor from the printed trace to the probe and a reconstruction algorithm. To validate the voltage sensing, known periodic and pulse voltages are injected into the printed trace and compared with the reconstructed waveforms. Our results demonstrate that the voltage sensing method can be used for measurement of a random waveform with period even down to 1 ns and single pulse with rise time down to 2 ns. In consideration of the flexible relocation of the probe, the voltage sensing accuracy caused by spatial errors is also investigated.
To measure the magnetic near field with high common mode noise rejection, a probe with the differential and symmetrical structure forming a detection loop is developed. Such measurement is performed by using a two-port vector network analyzer (VNA), and validated by using a microstrip line as device under test (DUT). In comparison to the measurement with traditional single-output magnetic near field probe, the electric field suppression of the proposed measurement can be improved by at least 10 dB in the frequency range of 3∼11 GHz, while the other characteristics basically remain unchanged.
Two‐dimensional (2D) materials exhibit fascinating and outstanding optoelectronic properties, laying the foundation for the development of novel optoelectronic devices. However, ultra‐weak light absorption of 2D materials limits the performance of the optoelectronic devices. Here, a structure of MoS 2 /graphene/Au integrated onto the side‐polished fiber (SPF) is proposed to achieve a high‐performance fiber‐integrated multifunction‐in‐one optoelectronic device. It is found that the device can absorb the transverse magnetic (TM) mode guided in the SPF and generate photocurrents as a polarization‐sensitive photodetector, while the transverse electric (TE) mode passes with low loss through the device, making the device simultaneously a polarizer. In the device, the MoS 2 film and the Au finger electrode can enhance the TM absorption by 1.75 times and 24.8 times, respectively, thus allowing to achieve high performance: a high photoresponsivity of 2.2 × 10 5 A/W at 1550 nm; the external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 1.76 × 10 7 %; a high photocurrent polarization ratio of 0.686 and a polarization efficiency of 3.9 dB/mm at C‐band. The integration of 2D materials on SPF paves the way to enhance the light–2D material interaction and achieve high performance multifunction‐in‐one fiber‐integrated optoelectronic devices.

Dual probe is capable of simultaneously measuring electric and magnetic fields in the same position, given that perfectly symmetric design is realized on the transmission paths connecting the detection loop and the probe outputs. For general application, a calibration method for the asymmetric probing in near-field measurement with the dual probe is presented, in order to deal with the failure of the traditional calibration due to the asymmetric transmissions in both paths. The asymmetric probing measurement is modeled, and then the proposed calibration to eliminate the asymmetry is further derived based on two independent measurements at two directions (0° and 90°) between the probe and the microstrip line providing a known electromagnetic field at the surface. The calibration method is demonstrated with two kinds of dual probes of different coupling structure. The proposed calibration is validated by introducing the asymmetry to the probing process in the measurement of the standing wave along a conductor-backed coplanar waveguide transmission line.
