With the increasing popularity of Location-Based Social Networks (LBSNs), a significant volume of check-in data of users has been generated. Such massive data brings difficulties for the users to efficiently retrieve their desired point-of-interest (POI). As a result, POI recommendation systems have received extensive attention from academia and industry. Currently, most existing POI recommendation approaches only provide users with a fixed set of recommended POIs based on the historical check-in records of the users, and cannot achieve flexible and feasible recommendations according to different spatial and temporal situations of the users. In this paper, we propose a next POI recommendation model that will predict POIs to be visited by users in the next few hours according to their historical check-in data and current contextual information (such as the current time and locations of the users). In our model, we propose a unified approach to calculate context-aware similarities between different users by investigating the influences of both temporal and spatial features for the users. We also propose an approach to dynamically generate different POI recommendation lists for a particular user according to different current context information of the user. Compared with the state-of-the-art POI recommendation approaches, the experimental results demonstrate that our system achieves much better performance.

The frequent and sharp fluctuations in garlic prices seriously affect the sustainable development of the garlic industry. Accurate prediction of garlic prices can facilitate correct evaluation and scientific decision making by garlic practitioners, thereby avoiding market risks and promoting the healthy development of the garlic industry. To improve the prediction accuracy of garlic prices, this paper proposes a garlic-price-prediction method based on a combination of long short-term memory (LSTM) and multiple generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (GARCH)-family models for the nonstationary and nonlinear characteristics of garlic-price series. Firstly, we obtain volatility characteristic information such as the volatility aggregation of garlic-price series by constructing GARCH-family models. Then, we leverage the LSTM model to learn the complex nonlinear relationships between the garlic-price series and the volatility characteristic information of the series, and predict the garlic price. We applied the proposed model to a real-world garlic dataset. The experimental results show that the prediction performance of the combined LSTM and GARCH-family model containing volatility characteristic information of garlic price is generally better than those of the separate models. The combined LSTM model incorporating GARCH and PGARCH models (LSTM-GP) had the best performance in predicting garlic price in terms of evaluation indexes, such as mean absolute error, root mean-square error, and mean absolute percentage error. The combined model of LSTM-GARCH provides the best results in garlic price prediction and can provide support for garlic price prediction.

With the rapid development of mobile internet technology, mobile applications (apps) have been rapidly popularized. To facilitate users’ choice of apps, app recommendation is becoming a research hotspot in academia and industry. Although traditional app recommendation approaches have achieved certain results, these methods only mechanically consider the user’s current context information, ignoring the impact of the user’s previous related context on the user’s current selection of apps. We believe this has hindered the further improvement of the recommendation effect. Based on this fact, this paper proposes a novel context-aware mobile application recommendation approach based on user behavior trajectories. We named this approach CMARA, which is the initials acronym of the proposed approach. Specifically, 1) CMARA integrates the heterogeneous information of the target users such as the user’s app, time, and location, into users behavior trajectories to model the users’ app usage preferences; 2) CMARA constructs the context Voronoi diagram using the users’ contextual point and leverages the context Voronoi diagram to build a novel user similarity model; 3) CMARA uses the target user’s current contextual information to generate an app recommendation list that meets the user’s preferences. Through experiments on large-scale real-world data, we verified the effectiveness of CMARA.

In order to accomplish accurate mushroom classification and measurement, it is necessary to optimize the existing classification algorithm and measurement devices, as well as to design a specific robot to improve classification accuracy and measurement efficiency. In order to achieve the above objectives, a research-level verification of mushroom grading using Yolov5 + OpenCV and a mushroom measuring system using a resistance strain gauge sensor was carried out. In the aspect of mushroom grading, a method based on the OpenCV visual library was used to identify the minimum quadrilateral outside the mushroom contour, allowing the size of the mushroom to be measured. The experiment’s results show that the method can assess target objects that are occluded with each other under different illumination conditions with 96% accuracy. In the measurement of mushrooms, the strain of the resistance is converted into an analog signal, and the weight of different grades of mushrooms is converted according to the linear relationship after processing by the detection circuit module. Through this method, the error range is successfully controlled within ±0.02 kg, which meets the requirements of accurate measurement of mushrooms. The results of field experiments show that the proposed accurate grading and measurement method of Lentinula edodes is effective and feasible, and provides technical support for the intelligent grading and measurement of Lentinula edodes in production units.
