Dr. Svetlana Ilić is a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Materials at the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, University of Belgrade, National Institute of the Republic of Serbia. In 2018, she received a PhD from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy (University of Belgrade). Her work in materials science has resulted in 19 scientific articles and numerous conference papers, presentations, and lectures. According to the SCOPUS database, the number of author citations is 210, excluding self-citations, while the Hirsch index is 9. She was peer-reviewing in prestigious international journals. Additionally, she served as guest editor for Metallurgical and Materials Data and Symmetry, supporting the advancement of science in Serbia and globally. She is a member of the Serbian Ceramic Society and the Serbian Society for Ceramic Materials. The research interests of Dr. Svetlana Ilić include the synthesis, sintering, and consolidation of pure, doped, and modified active ceramic powders and their structural, microstructural, thermal, and mechanical characterization. Besides the synthesis from pure chemicals, she has dealt with ceramic materials from natural sources, producing dense and porous ceramics in terms of refractories and thermal insulators, mainly based on mullite and mullite ceramics.
