A green analytical chemistry study attempts to generate environmentally friendly alternatives to dangerous compounds while reducing waste output. The study thoroughly analyzed eight green tools to determine their greenness. Given its importance in treating hallucinations and delusions produced by Parkinson’s disease psychosis, it is critical to have a reliable and precise method for identifying pimavanserin (PVS) in both pure form and pharmaceutical formulations. The current study used a straightforward approach to forced degradation experiments to establish a novel reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography method for evaluating stability. The method was executed on the Agilent Zorbax Eclipse Plus C18 column (100 × 4.6 mm, 3.5 μm particle size) with ultraviolet detection at 226 nm. The Box–Behnken design is the ultimate solution for identifying optimal chromatographic conditions in a timely and efficient manner, with minimal trials required. The study investigated the impact of three factors: acetonitrile ratio, column oven temperature, and flow rate on various responses, namely, retention time, tailing factor, and theoretical plates. Desirability and overlay plots were utilized to forecast the best mobile phase containing a buffer solution: acetonitrile: tetrahydrofuran in a ratio of (65: 20: 15, v/v/v), which proved highly effective in the experiments. Linearity was conducted for PVS in the 3–50 µg·mL −1 range with an R 2 coefficient of determination of 0.9997. PVS had detection and quantification limits of 1.1 and 3.5 µg·mL −1 , respectively, indicating a highly significant correlation between the variables studied. PVS’s recovery percentage was determined to be 101.30%. We also used the Six Sigma lean technique to ensure precision and productivity. PVS was tested for acid, base, oxidative hydrolysis, photodegradation, and heat, as per International Council for Harmonisation guidelines. The highest degradation was obtained from oxidative hydrolysis and thermal degradation.

This study developed a novel zeolite/activated carbon nanocomposite (Zeo/AC) for the simultaneous removal of carcinogenic Congo Red (CR) and Crystal Violet (CV) dyes, with subsequent energy recovery. The material was synthesized via a green ball milling-hydrothermal method and characterized thoroughly. The Zeo/AC nanocomposite demonstrated exceptional adsorption performance, achieving record capacities of 752.6 mg g−1 for CR and 908.3 mg g−1 for CV at 55 °C and neutral pH. Adsorption was rapid, reaching equilibrium within 60 minutes and following pseudo-second-order kinetics (R2 > 0.998). The process was endothermic and spontaneous. The intermediate pHpzc (6.1) enabled efficient dual-dye removal via synergistic mechanisms: electrostatic attraction for cationic CV and π–π stacking/pore filling for anionic CR. Statistical physics modeling confirmed physisorption-dominated interactions (ΔE ≈ −12 kJ mol−1). The composite exhibited excellent regenerability, retaining >82% capacity over five cycles. As a proof-of-concept for a circular economy, the dye-saturated adsorbent was successfully repurposed as an electrode for urea electro-oxidation, delivering a current density of 15.45 mA cm−2. The synthesis method and application were validated as environmentally friendly by greenness assessment tools (AGREEprep, BAGI, RGB12). This work presents a sustainable, dual-function material for advanced wastewater treatment and resource valorization.

Breast cancer affects millions of women worldwide. This study explores the potential of combining pentoxifylline (PTX) and simvastatin (SIM) as a treatment for breast cancer. We aimed to develop six sustainability tools using green and white metrics to evaluate the environmental impact of reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) methods for analyzing and separating PTX and SIM in their pure forms. The tools include analytical GREEnness, green analytical procedure index, Complexgreen analytical procedure index, analytical greenness metric for sample preparation, blue applicability grade index, and the RGB 12 algorithm. For the separation, we used a Novapack C8 column (15 × 0.46 cm, 5 µm) at 25°C. The injection volume was 5.0 µL, the wavelength was set to 210 nm, and the total runtime was 5 min. We identified optimal chromatographic conditions efficiently using the Box–Behnken design with minimal trials. We investigated the effects of three factors on retention time and resolution: acetonitrile ratio, pH, and flow rate. We used overlay plots with a 60:40 ratio (v/v) of acetonitrile and bi-distilled water to forecast the most effective mobile phase. The calibration curves for PTX and SIM showed a correlation value of over 0.999 within the range of 5–60 µg·mL −1 . The recovery rates ranged from 99.9% to 100.2%, indicating high accuracy. Our RP-HPLC technique proves to be reliable and efficient for the simultaneous estimation of multiple anticancer drugs. We evaluated the environmental sustainability of this approach using green and white metrics, and the recommended method has been thoroughly validated according to International Council for Harmonisation guidelines, making it highly reliable for analyzing new formulations.

Analytical chemistry research has shifted towards environmentally friendly substitutes that reduce waste and avoid hazardous substances. These efforts align with broader environmental goals and inspire sustainable and responsible science. The objective of this work is to develop and validate an analytical method and verify its greenness using specific tools, including analytical GREEnness (AGREE), analytical greenness metric for sample preparation (AGREEprep), green analytical procedure index, complex green analytical procedure index, analytical Eco-Scale, analytical method volume intensity, analytical method greenness score, and HPLC-EAT (Environmental Assessment Tool). Effective treatment of chronic cough relies heavily on adequately utilizing salbutamol (SAL) and guaifenesin (GUA) in the presence of sodium benzoate (SOB) preservative. The isocratic elution mode used the Zorbax Eclipse Plus C18 column (15 cm × 4.6 mm, 3.5 µm). It could move 1.5 mL·min −1 , hold 50 µL, have a column temperature of 30°C, and have an autosampler temperature of 5°C. It could detect UV light at 276 nm and had a mobile phase of 80:20 v/v buffer solution and acetonitrile. We have successfully established highly accurate calibration curves for the three components SAL, GUA, and SOB within the optimal range of 2–50 µg·mL −1 . The coefficient of correlation ( r ) for these curves was at an impressive 0.9999 for SAL and GUA, while it was 0.9998 for SOB. The recovery values were 100.15%, 100.47%, and 100.92% for SAL, GUA, and SOB, respectively. The selectivity and sensitivity to the ingredients were confirmed according to the International Council for Harmonisation guidelines, as no interference occurred from any of the used sample components. We implemented Six Sigma, resulting in precision and productivity.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a long-term autoimmune disease. As nanotechnology has advanced, a growing number of nanodrugs have been used in the treatment of RA due to their unique physical and chemical properties. The purpose of this study was to assess the therapeutic potential of a novel zeolite/vitamin B12 nanocomposite (Nano ZT/Vit B12) formulation in complete Freund’s adjuvant (CFA)-induced arthritis. The newly synthesized Nano ZT/Vit B12 was fully characterized using various techniques such as XRD, FT-IR, BET analysis, HERTEM, SEM, practical size, zeta potential, XRF, and EDX. The anti-arthritic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities as well as the immunomodulation effect of Nano ZT/Vit B12 on the CFA rat model of arthritis were examined. Histopathologic ankle joint injuries caused by CFA intrapedal injection included synovium hyperplasia, inflammatory cell infiltration, and extensive cartilage deterioration. The arthritic rats’ Nano ZT/Vit B12 supplementation significantly improved these effects. Furthermore, in arthritic rats, Nano ZT/Vit B12 significantly reduced serum levels of RF and CRP, as well as the levels of IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-17, and ADAMTS-5, while increasing IL-4 and TIMP-3 levels. Nano-ZT/Vit B12 significantly declined the LPO level and increased antioxidant activities, such as GSH content and GST activity, in the arthritic rats. In arthritic rats, Nano ZT/Vit B12 also reduced TGF-β mRNA gene expression and MMP-13 protein levels. Collectively, Nano ZT/Vit B12 seems to have anti-arthritic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, making it a promising option for RA in the future.
