Alvaro Caballero has held the position of full university professor in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Córdoba since 2012. He completed a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and completed a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a doctoral thesis dedicated to the study of nanomaterials for rechargeable lead–acid and lithium-ion batteries. His scientific activity focuses mainly on the development of materials for energy storage systems, especially batteries (Pb, Li, Na) and supercapacitors. He is responsible for projects, contracts, and doctoral theses on advanced functional materials (e.g., graphene) and/or biomass derivatives.
