This qualitative study explores the intricate relationship between social stigma and mental health among the transgender community in Lahore, Pakistan, and Delhi, India. Through 16 in-depth interviews, the research employs thematic analysis to uncover the core themes that emerge from the personal narratives of transgender individuals in these culturally diverse yet challenging environments. The thematic analysis revealed several key themes: the pervasive impact of societal rejection, the psychological toll of discrimination, resilience in the face of adversity, and the quest for identity and acceptance. Participants' accounts vividly portray the harsh realities of living as a transgender individual in societies where deep-seated stigma is prevalent. Many described experiences of ostracization from family and community, leading to feelings of isolation and psychological distress. The stigma associated with their gender identity often resulted in discrimination in various spheres of life, including employment, healthcare, and social interactions, further exacerbating their mental health challenges. Despite these adversities, a recurring theme of resilience emerged. Participants shared coping strategies and support systems that helped them navigate these challenges. The stories highlighted not only their struggles but also their strength and determination to live authentically. This study sheds light on the urgent need for societal change and policy reform to support the mental health and well-being of the transgender community in Lahore and Delhi. The findings provide valuable insights for mental health professionals, policymakers, and advocates, emphasizing the importance of creating inclusive and supportive environments that respect and affirm transgender identities.

In the digital era, social media platforms play a vital role in shaping the self-image and consumption behaviors of individuals, making it essential to investigate the relationships between these variables. This study seeks to determine how Social Media Usage (SMU) and Self-Image Congruity (SIC) influence Online Conspicuous Consumption (OCC) among young adults. Using a cross-sectional survey methodology, a purposive sample of 262 individuals was recruited. The questionnaire contained four sections: Demographic information, SMU, SIC, and OCC questionnaires. To analyze the data, descriptive and inferential statistics were employed. Findings revealed a significant impact of social media usage and self-image congruity on online conspicuous consumption. The findings of this research contribute to the growing body of knowledge on the psychological and behavioral effects of social media and have significant implications for a wide range of stakeholders, such as individuals, marketers, legislators, and academics. Despite its limitations, this study provides the groundwork for future research into the complex interaction between SMU, SIC, and OCC in diverse cultural and geographic contexts. The findings can be used to inform marketing strategies, policy formulation, and ethical use of social media in the digital age, thereby enhancing individual and societal well-being.

Background: Paramedical staff are essential to healthcare services and often encounter negative life events that can influence their psychological well-being. This research aimed to elucidate the connection between negative life events and the psychological well-being of paramedical personnel in Multan City, Punjab, Pakistan. Methods: The study utilized a correlational research approach and involved a purposive sample of 196 paramedical staff from multiple medical institutions. The Negative Life Events Scale (Wills et al., 1992) and the Psychological Well-being Scale (Ryff & Keyes, 1995) were used as study instruments. Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to evaluate the relationship between the specified variables. Results: The analysis revealed a significant negative relationship between negative life events and psychological well-being (r = -0.48, p < 0.01). Negative life events were found to be a significant predictor of psychological well-being, explaining 23% of the variance in well-being assessments. The paramedical staff who experienced a higher frequency of negative life events reported lower levels of psychological well-being. Conclusion: The results of this study shed light on the importance of addressing the negative impact of life events on the psychological well-being of paramedical staff. These findings serve as a call to action for the development of specialized interventions and support structures that can help these healthcare professionals cope with the effects of these events. By proactively addressing these concerns, institutions can create a more supportive environment for staff and improve their overall well-being. These insights have the potential to inform institutional policies, support mechanisms for staff, and future research into mental health considerations in healthcare environments.

This study explores healthcare providers' perspectives to identify the socio-demographic, economic, cultural and health system factors shaping health-seeking behavior of rural male population. Pakistan is facing several challenges due to epidemiological transition. Although progress has been made, Pakistan's health status, especially of rural population is falling behind in the region. Exploring the factors of health seeking behavior of rural male population can yield critical roadmap for improving health outcomes in these communities. The data is collected through in-depth interviews of nine healthcare providers from various healthcare provision systems in the locale. Braun & Clarks approach of thematic analysis is used to analyze data. The analysis reveals key barriers such as financial constraints, educational deficits, cultural beliefs, and inadequate health infrastructure are identified by healthcare providers. The need for qualified medical personnel and essential medicines has inversely affected healthcare utilization. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers highlighting the need to develop and implement culturally sensitive health promotion strategies.
