Prof. Dr. Jie Shen

Jie Shen, currently serving as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Geography, Nanjing Normal University, boasts a robust educational background in Cartography and Geographic Information Science. She earned her M.S. from Nanjing University in 1999 and her Ph.D. from Nanjing Normal University in 2010. With a rich academic tenure, she has held various positions, including Director of the Department of Surveying and Mapping Engineering and Associate Professor, contributing significantly to the university's academic landscape. Dr. Shen's professional engagements extend globally, with notable roles such as Chair of the Commission on Cartography in Early Warning and Crisis Management at the International Cartographic Association (ICA) and Chinese Representative for ISO/TC 268/SC1/WG6 Smart Community Infrastructures. She has coached students to win prizes in international and national competitions.
