Dr. Matthias Ahlhelm is the Group Leader of Biologized Materials and Structures and works in the Research Field of Bio- and Nanotechnology at the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems, IKTS. He received his Master of Science (MSc) in Chemistry from the Technische Universität Clausthal in 2009 and obtained Dr.-Ing. from TU Clausthal & Fraunhofer IKTS in 2015. He is an expert in the development of personalizable ceramic bone replacement material. He has published >32 papers in various journals. He conducts research in Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Engineering Living Materials. Current projects are concerned with novel biomimetic Bone Replacement Material and customized Implants, (Bio)Mineralization processes, development of Living Building Materials, Shaping Technologies of MOFs & Cold Sintering Processing.
