This systematic review examines digital transformation in post-pandemic supply chains through a bibliometric analysis of literature from 2020 to 2024. Using the PRISMA protocol, we analyzed publications from Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect databases. Results show that sustainability has become the dominant keyword in digital transformation research, with China, the United States, and India forming the main research triangle. The most influential technologies driving transformation are big data, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things (IoT). Co-citation network analysis revealed three major research clusters: the green cluster led by Gunasekaran and Angappa focusing on supply chain management; the red cluster led by Rahman and Muhammad Saddiq addressing implementation aspects; and the blue cluster led by Calatayud and Rodriguez examining innovation and adaptation. Organizations are shifting from purely operational approaches to more holistic transformations that integrate strategic and organizational dimensions. We identified important research gaps in developing regions and in the integration of emerging technologies with existing systems. This review enhances the understanding of post-pandemic supply chain digitization while providing a framework for future research in this rapidly evolving field.

South American coffee producers face growing challenges due to external trade dependencies and climate-induced disruptions. This study investigates the role of export market diversification as a sustainability strategy for four major regional exporters of roasted non-decaffeinated coffee: Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador. A quantitative and comparative methodology was applied over a ten-year period using the Herfindahl–Hirschman Index (HHI) to evaluate export market concentration and the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) Index—including its normalized variant—to assess international competitiveness by destination. The results reveal substantial disparities: Brazil and Colombia exhibit moderate to high diversification and relative competitiveness in select markets, while Peru and Ecuador remain dependent on a few strategic buyers, with limited or declining comparative advantages. The findings emphasize that sustained export performance in the coffee sector requires not only a broader destination portfolio but also improved positioning through trade agreements, infrastructure development, and climate-resilient innovation. This study concludes with a strategic proposal based on three pillars—commercial, logistical, and technological—to support structural transformation and enhance the long-term sustainability of the coffee trade in South America.

The accelerated production of solid waste in the urban-rural context requires studies to optimize the environmental pollution gap. The objective of the study is to know the perspectives of sociodemographic factors and solid waste management in the district of Chachapoyas. The research is of a causal descriptive type at an explanatory level. The sample is composed of 382 families obtained through probabilistic sampling. The survey technique was used, and the questionnaire was a valid and reliable instrument (Cronbach's alpha = 0.777). The results indicate that the sociodemographic profile has a significant effect (p<0.05) on solid waste management, including economic status, age, occupation, education level, monthly income, area of residence, and number of persons per household. In addition, it was found that solid waste management in the city has a regular level of performance. However, there are gaps that need to be addressed in the following order of priority: storage, final disposal, generation, treatment, and recycling. In conclusion, solid waste management in the city of Chachapoyas is average, indicating the need to address these gaps in the formulation of new public policies.

The purpose of the study was to identify the sociodemographic factors that influence the feeling of guilt about recycling household waste in Peruvian families living in Sullana. The rapid generation of waste in urban and rural areas leads to the development of multidisciplinary research to mitigate environmental pollution, which not only affects tourism but also the quality of life of the population. The study design was non-experimental, descriptive, causal, and explanatory. The research approach was quantitative. The instrument was validated (Cronbach's alpha = 0.932), and it was observed that age, employment status, educational level, income, and professional career were significantly related (p<0.05) to the feeling of guilt for recycling. There is a high level of guilt about recycling household waste related to an attitude of success and social norms, and a mild level related to an attitude of failure. The sociodemographic profile of Peruvian families living in Sullana is characterized by an average age of 35 years, employment, secondary, technical, and higher education, as well as income between S/500 and 1500 soles and living in a family nucleus composed of 3-5 people. These findings are important for the elaboration of public policies in the environmental management of solid waste and in the academic sphere to raise awareness among the different actors to mitigate climate change and contribute to the sustainability of natural resources. It is recommended to apply compensatory incentives to families to achieve positive changes in household waste management.

This study aimed to assess the economic-trade sustainability of crab exports from Canada, Vietnam and China by contrasting frozen (HS 030614) and non-frozen (HS 030633) segments in terms of destination diversification and revealed competitiveness. In this study, economic-trade sustainability is interpreted as the structural coherence between destination diversification, revealed competitiveness, and the trade conditions that support export continuity in perishable products. A quantitative, descriptive within-country design was implemented using ITC Trade Map secondary data for 2020–2024. Destination concentration was measured with the Herfindahl–Hirschman Index (HHI), competitiveness with symmetric revealed comparative advantage (SRCA), structural orientation with a Relative Specialization Index (RSI), and an integrated positioning matrix combined mean HHI and SRCA with export-weighted centering and confidence intervals. The results indicated persistently high concentration in Canada across both segments, with frozen exports locked into a United States corridor and non-frozen exports becoming increasingly China-dependent. China exhibited moderate concentration and a more regionally dispersed portfolio, alongside stable competitive advantages in several Asian markets, while showing selective disadvantages in some Western destinations. Vietnam displayed the highest structural vulnerability, particularly in the non-frozen segment, with extremely high HHI, abrupt destination shifts and competitiveness confined to a narrow corridor. Overall, preservation-form segmentation shaped distinct risk architectures, and sustainability depended on the joint configuration of diversification and competitive strength.

This study aimed to jointly characterize destination diversification and revealed competitiveness in the international shrimp and prawn trade of Ecuador, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia during 2020–2024. A quantitative, descriptive–comparative approach was applied using annual free-on-board values at the exporter–destination level obtained from Trade Map (International Trade Centre). Destination diversification was proxied by the Herfindahl–Hirschman Index, while market-level competitiveness was measured through the Normalized Revealed Comparative Advantage index. Results show that Ecuador expanded exports while maintaining persistently high destination concentration. India exhibited broad revealed comparative advantage across multiple markets, yet remained highly concentrated, with episodes of deconcentration that were not sustained. Vietnam recorded relative stagnation, moderate concentration, and heterogeneous competitiveness across destinations. Indonesia experienced contraction with extremely high concentration, characterized by a pronounced advantage in the United States alongside disadvantages in alternative markets. Overall, a positive NRCA did not necessarily coincide with a low HHI, and configurations in which revealed advantage is concentrated in a small set of anchor markets are associated with higher exposure and may entail more limited reorientation options under shocks.
