Resveratrol (Res) is a plant extract with strong anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-aging biological activities. However, Res is limited by its disadvantages, such as poor solubility, rapid metabolism and low bioavailability. In this study, the Resveratrol-loaded TEMPO-oxidized cellulose aerogel (RLTA) drug delivery system was prepared by the method of “dissolution-freeze-drying” and characterized by a series of analysis. Then the blood biochemical indexes and HE staining were measured and analyzed in animal experiments. The in vivo results showed that RLTA can decrease the levels of TNF-α and IL-6 inflammatory factors in the synovial fluid. Furthermore, the molecular mechanism was investigated through the analysis of silent information regulator 2 homolog 1 (Sirt1) protein expression, which suggested that RLTA could upregulate the expression of Sirt1 and mediate the P38 signaling pathway, thereby inhibiting the expression of COX-2 and MMP13 which can suppress the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α inflammatory factor. These results reveal that cellulose aerogel is a promising candidate for drug delivery and RLTA has great potential application for the treatment of sports osteoarthritis.
A simple and low-cost scheme of generating 532 nm modulated pulses is investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The modulator is an external cavity based on a temporal delay loop and polarization rotation that is realized by two half-wave plates. Propagating in the temporal delay loop multiple times and being outputted partially after each round trip, the intensity of the initial green laser pulse is modulated. By analyzing the polarization of the pulse in each round trip, the pulse train is modeled to simulate the waveform of the modulated pulse. This modulator is coupled with a sub-nanosecond 532-nm-laser source to verify the model of intensity modulation. In the experiment, by rotating the HWPs, modulated pulses with various temporal profiles are obtained. The fundamental modulation frequency is calculated to be 520 MHz, and the frequency of the second harmonic also exceeds 1 GHz. Such a scheme of intensity modulation can be applied in underwater detection and ranging.
Children’s outdoor physical activity (PA) serves as a crucial mechanism for health development, but its safety is affected by urban space design and management. However, most existing studies focus on isolated risk factors or singular spatial typologies, which lack a comprehensive safety assessment framework. This study aims to construct a safety assessment system for children’s outdoor public activity spaces and explore safety optimization strategies. This study employs a mixed methods approach to systematically analyze 13 outdoor public activity spaces across Shanghai, utilizing NVivo 12 Plus for qualitative coding of the data. Based on the coding results, a questionnaire survey targeting parents of children under 12 years old (with a balanced gender ratio) was designed and administered, yielding 509 valid responses. A 32-indicator assessment system was finally constructed via principal component analysis (PCA). The assessment system encompasses seven dimensions: site facilities (24.0%), spatial conditions (16.1%), site management (13.5%), material conditions (13.0%), service facilities (12.8%), traffic and landscape (10.3%), and ground conditions (10.3%). This study provides a quantitative safety assessment instrument for designing child-friendly urban public activity spaces, which has important implications for improving the public health service system and promoting the construction of healthy cities in the Sustainable Development Goals.
