Dr. Anna Novikova is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Laboratory of Geophysics – Satellite Remote Sensing & Archaeoenvironment, Institute for Mediterranean Studies, Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), in Rethymno, Crete, Greece. She holds a BSc (2015) and an MSc (2017) in Geography from Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 2022, she defended her PhD thesis on the Morphodynamics of Thermoabrasional Coasts of the Kara Sea, where she analyzed coastal dynamics using multi-temporal remote sensing and field data and assessed the influence of environmental, climatic, and anthropogenic factors on these processes. Her research interests lie in applying GIS and remote sensing to coastal geomorphology and the evolution of coastal systems under changing climatic conditions and human impact. She has participated in multiple geological expeditions to the Arctic coasts and has professional experience as a GIS specialist in the oil&gas and mining industries.
