In this paper, a multi-mode surface plasmon resonance absorber based on dart-type single-layer graphene is proposed, which has the advantages of polarization independence, tunability, high sensitivity, high figure of merit, etc. The device consists of a top layer dart-like patterned single-layer graphene array, a thicker silicon dioxide spacer layer and a metal reflector layer, and has simple structural characteristics. The numerical results show that the device achieves the perfect polarization-independent absorption at the resonance wavelengths of λI = 3369.55 nm, λII = 3508.35 nm, λIII = 3689.09 nm and λIV = 4257.72 nm, with the absorption efficiencies of 99.78%, 99.40%, 99.04% and 99.91%, respectively. The absorption effect of the absorber can be effectively regulated and controlled by adjusting the numerical values such as the geometric parameters and the structural period p of the single-layer graphene array. In addition, by controlling the chemical potential and the relaxation time of the graphene layer, the resonant wavelength and the absorption efficiency of the mode can be dynamically tuned. And can keep high absorption in a wide incident angle range of 0° to 50°. At last, we exposed the structure to different environmental refractive indices, and obtained the corresponding maximum sensitivities in four resonance modes, which are SI = 635.75 nm RIU−1, SII = 695.13 nm RIU−1, SIII = 775.38 nm RIU−1 and SIV = 839.39 nm RIU−1. Maximum figure of merit are 54.03 RIU−1, 51.49 RIU−1, 43.56 RIU−1, and 52.14 RIU−1, respectively. Therefore, this study has provided a new inspiration for the design of the graphene-based tunable multi-band perfect metamaterial absorber, which can be applied to the fields such as photodetectors and chemical sensors.

In this study, we investigate the sensitivity properties of YBa2Cu3O7-δ thin films with a 15° tilting angle in relation to heat flux density. The films were prepared using the laser pulsed deposition (PLD) technique, and their characteristics were evaluated using various techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and infrared steady-state and laser transient calibration systems. The YBa2Cu3O7-δ films prepared in this study were found to be of good quality, exhibiting a single-phase structure with strict (001) orientation. Both the substrate and film diffraction peaks were sharp and consistent with the step-flow growth mode, indicating high crystalline quality. Ultra-high sensitivity in the range of 0 to 100 kW/m2, the maximum sensitivity is 230 μV/(kW/m2), and an uncertainty is only 3%. According to the infrared steady-state heat flux calibration system test, when the single output power of the quartz lamp array is 0.2 kW, 0.3 kW, 0.4 kW and 0.5 kW, the maximum output voltage is 0.19 mV, 0.41 mV, 0.63 mV and 0.94 mV, respectively, indicating that the output voltage of the sensor increases with the increase in heat flux, showing a good linear characteristic, and the fitting linearity is 0.99. Through the test of the laser transient thermal current calibration system, the sensors are found to have excellent response–recovery characteristics at 500 kHz and 1000 kHz fiber laser frequencies, and the maximum voltage output is 8.83 mV and 9.09 mV, respectively. Moreover, the component has excellent repeatability, and the maximum measurement error is only 1.94%. Our findings demonstrate the potential of YBa2Cu3O7-δ thin films for use in heat flux sensing applications.

More and more researchers are studying the heat transfer performance of aeronautical materials at high temperatures. In this paper, we use a quartz lamp to irradiate fused quartz ceramic materials, and the sample surface temperature and heat flux distribution were obtained at a heating power of 45~150 kW. Furthermore, the heat transfer properties of the material were analyzed using a finite element method and the effect of surface heat flow on the internal temperature field was investigated. The results show that the fiber skeleton structure has a significant effect on the thermal insulation performance of fiber-reinforced fused quartz ceramics and the longitudinal heat transfer along the rod fiber skeleton is slower. As time passes, the surface temperature distribution tends to stability and reaches an equilibrium state. The surface temperature of fused quartz ceramic increases with the increase in the radiant heat flux of the quartz lamp array. When the input power is 5 kW, the maximum surface temperature of the sample can reach 1153 °C. However, the non-uniformity of the sample surface temperature also increases, reaching a maximum uncertainty of 12.28%. The research in this paper provides important theoretical guidance for the heat insulation design of ultra-high acoustic velocity aircraft.

In this work, pulse laser detectors based on the transverse thermoelectric effect of YBa2Cu3O7-δ thin films on vicinal cut LaAlO3 (001) substrates have been fabricated. The anisotropic Seebeck coefficients between ab-plane (Sab) and c-axis (Sc) of thin films are utilized to generate the output voltage signal in such kind of detectors. Fast response has been determined in these sensors, including both the rise time and the decay time. Under the irradiation of pulse laser with the pulse duration of 5–7 ns, the output voltage of these detectors shows the rise time and the decay time of 6 and 42 ns, respectively, which are much smaller than those from other materials. The small rise time in YBa2Cu3O7-δ-based detectors may be due to its low resistivity. While the high thermal conductivity and the large contribution of electronic thermal conductivity to the thermal conductivity of YBa2Cu3O7-δ are thought to be responsible for the small decay time. In addition, these detectors show good response under the irradiation of pulse lasers with a repetition rate of 4 kHz, including the precise determinations of amplitude and time. These results may pave a simple and convenient approach to manufacture the pulse laser detectors with a fast response.
