In a globalized economy, marketing performance is needed in order to be competitive and also for being successful on the market. Currently entrepreneurs have access to a big variety of tools and also the increase of networking platforms can help ecommerce entrepreneurs to gather a lot of useful information and know-how for improving their businesses. Our main objective is to identify which are the most important needs of ecommerce entrepreneurs in order to communicate with other business owners activating in the ecommerce industry. The secondary objective is to identify what features an online networking platform should have, so it can become an important tool for growing the marketing performance of each member using the networking platform. The research was made using a focus group composed of 15 participants. All participants are business owners who manage at least one online store, selling goods in the local or international market for at least 3 years. The results of the qualitative research made, were that entrepreneurs who are trying to establish a new business partnership, use classical forms of communication, such as email, phone calls, meetings but they believe that online communication would be beneficial for their business because it can be less time consuming and more efficient for finding new business partners or relevant know-how. We discovered that entrepreneurs wish to learn from the practical experience of other business owners to improve the marketing performance through innovation and creativity. The research conducted has identified the key elements of a business networking platform for entrepreneurs. The main elements required include privacy, security, sharing relevant know-how and elements that can create an efficient collaborative environment. We also discovered that local entrepreneurs do not use or know a business networking platform that meets their demands and expectations for sustaining an effective business development.

Online banking services create a way to reduce costs, attracting new segments of population and growing the bank performance and improvement of services. Client’s satisfaction is the main benefits of the banks. The aim of the paper is to investigate and to analyze the factors that influence the adoption of internet banking system in Romania. One of the problems faced by consumers using Internet banking is confidentiality. This makes security in transactions to be essential. For this, the main objectives are: identifying critical factors that contribute to the acceptance of internet banking system and the link between them and also identifying the demographic factors that influence the adoption of this system in Romania. The data collection was done by a quantitative research using the questionnaire method as a survey tool and it was made up of questions measured using the Likert scale. It contains variables based on the construct’s relevance to Internet Banking. All assumptions about the relationship between dependent variables and independent variables are developed and tested using multiple reliability, validity, and regression. It was used a statistical software and with it were analised 6 independent variables, named social influence, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived risk, perceived confidence and intention to use Internet banking. The attitude toward using Internet banking system will be the dependent variable. To verify the acceptability model’s validity, it was used the Structural Equations Model. The results are partly supported by the developed hypotheses and are presented after the reliability test where Cronbach’s Alpha is calculated suggesting the internal reliability of the consistency for the scale. The significant effect that influences the attitude toward using Internet banking system is represented by the perceived usefulness, the perceived risk, the perceived confidence and the intention to use internet banking.

The purpose of this paper is to identify how online shopping platform users in Romania influence businesses’ performance. The emergence of e-commerce has led to a revolution in global commerce by diversifying and improving sales and purchasing actions for existing products and services on the market. In Romania, buyers’ behaviour shows a more restraining of online commerce behaviour. Most sales are still registered according to the classic system of physically going to stores, although the number of online users has grown significantly over the last decade. The reluctance of buyers to buy from the online environment leads to the low performance of companies in the e-commerce market. The hypothesized model is empirically tested using data collected from a survey on Google Analytics platforms of some online companies in Romania. The authors used SPSS Software to examine the reliability and validity of the measurement model. There have been analysed various links between some variables that were obtained from Google Analytics, data that were collected by age groups, gender or geographical area. Through an empirical analysis is being analysed the role of tracking data on the websites in order to improve company performance. By analysing those variables, the authors analysed if the number of sessions acquired, the bounce rate of the acquired visitors or other variables can improve the company performance. This study offers a new perspective on company performance in online firms. The analysis of variables describing user behaviour in the online environment in interaction with e-commerce platforms has led to conclusions about the performance of online companies. The theoretical contributions and managerial implications of the study are discussed.

On their way towards assuring growth and long-term sustainability, many modern small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) from the European Union have set building a stronger brand as one of their primary goals. To achieve this, an integrated framework for managing the continuous enhancement of their brand equity level by adopting digital marketing tools and techniques (DMTTs), has increasingly become a necessity for most of the modern SMEs. However, even if such an approach provides plenty of benefits, such as better audience targeting and reduction of traditional marketing expenses, implementing these complex processes in their business models poses a series of challenges like choosing the best selection of DMTTs. For this reason, a conceptual model is proposed in the first part of the paper, with the aim to highlight a framework that will help underline the links between DMTTs and other key elements that can provide an increase in brand equity of SMEs, thus contributing to growth and enhancing the sustainability level. Following the proposed model, research aimed at two main directions has been conducted in the second part. The first direction was to analyze the degree in which modern SMEs from the European Union located in Romania dedicate themselves toward embracing sustainability goals and principles. The second one represents an analysis using also the SPSS software solution on the most used selections of DMTTs mentioned in the presented conceptual model. The results obtained provide a starting point for those modern SMEs that choose to follow the path of sustainability by creating and enhancing their brand equity through DMTTs.

The article attempts to outline possible future developments in the field of the public accounting and auditing professions resulting from the present e-government processes, which dates back to the early 2000s. This change has an untapped potential that could have a profound effect in many areas, such as the rationalization of public spending, business ethics, and university education to new professions required by the future labor market. It should be noted also that the future change of labor is a generalist issue proposed in many prestigious international researches: the paper seeks to make a contribution specifically oriented to the field of accounting and auditing professions applied to the public sector. After a methodological premise of systematization of the related topics of reference – whose origins can be traced back to the New Public Management Theory – the theoretical approach of the contribution will try to develop some Italian real implications regarding the change under study.

The basics of product and service branding are generally the same. However, creating a brand for a company that offers services requires more effort because the services are hard to visualize and each client has different expectations. More than promoting any of the services, branding aims to create a perception of trust so that the brand name to be associated with integrity, quality, and innovation. The purpose of this paper is to determine how entrepreneurs develop their service-based business through social networks branding and also what are the benefits obtained from each method. The authors have researched previously what is the impact of social network marketing on business development and noticed that service-based businesses tend to obtain benefits from different activities comparing to product-based businesses. The authors researched through a semistructured questionnaire the online activities of 71 SMEs from Bucharest that offer various types of services to their customers. The results obtained are then correlated with the online and offline performance of the company.

The purpose of this study is to explore the moderating role of work experience on the relationships between entrepreneurial education, self-efficacy and students’ entrepreneurial intentions. Quantitative data were collected via a questionnaire based by investigating whether engineering students have sufficient entrepreneurial skills to evaluate opportunity, developing new products, and recognizing potential market applications. Engineering students need to be able to exploit opportunities that rely on scientific and technical knowledge to create and capture value by launch new venture. Our important findings have a series of important practical implications for managers, engineering students, engineers, and academic staff interested in encouraging economic growth. The results show that entrepreneurial education and self-efficacy have a positive impact on students’ entrepreneurial intentions. Work experience only has a partial influence on students’ entrepreneurial intentions, it exerts a significant indirect effect does not have a significant moderating effect. The findings of the study also provide practical implications suggest that increasing engineering students understanding and awareness of entrepreneurship lead to greater levels of interest in entrepreneurship careers. To the knowledge of the authors, this study is the first to investigate the mediating effect of work experience on students’ entrepreneurial intentions.

The purpose of this study is to extend research on social networking sites and the role of these tools on business performance of service firms. To date, there has been little investigation of the contribution of these tools in order to identify the opportunities for improving business performance. Using cross-section data from a sample in Romania, we empirically investigated the mediating effects of service innovation on the relationship between social networking sites and business performance. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to perform reliability and validity checks, and structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to test the research model. The findings fill the gap in the literature by demonstrating social networking sites influence the collaboration, ideas and knowledge sharing among employees, customers, and business partners, leading to growth the business performance. The results also indicate that innovation capability played a key role on business performance but its mediating role between social networking sites and business performance of service firms was not confirmed. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to examining the factors that lead to cloud computing adoption in a higher education setting. This cross-sectional empirical research is based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework. Data was collected by surveying 96 students from University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania. The factors that affect cloud computing adoption in higher education were identified and tested using LISREL software. The findings suggested that factors identified can be successfully integrated in our conceptual model. Perceived value and usefulness have a strong positive influence on intentions to use cloud computing in higher education, but student’s attitude towards technology had no significant effects on dependent variable. Perceived risk has significant negative effects on students’ intentions to use cloud computing. The findings are expected to enhance the understanding of cloud computing adoption for students and faculty members. The implication of these findings for faculty members and students are discussed.

The article presents the methodology and results of a fieldwork study conducted in order to obtain new customized footwear products designed based on elderly customers’ needs evaluation. The outcomes of the study are presented in two articles. This second part outlines the results concerning foot pathologies constraints for the manufacturing of customized products for elderly people. Because of their foot deformities, if elderly people use mass footwear they have access to, they suffer from skin damage and other similar foot pathologies, which ultimately affect their general health and increase public health expenses. The research aimed at investigating the development of new footwear products considering the foot pathologies of elderly customers in Romania. The research used a consumer survey based on quantitative methodology using a multi-section investigation instrument to generate an inventory of elderly consumers’ foot pathology needs. The conclusions clearly highlight the strong need for the development of new customized products.

The purpose of this study is to extend research on corporate social responsibility and to emphasise the role of this concept on innovation performance of service firms using mediators such as customer collaboration, employee collaboration, and business partners’ collaboration. This will help identifying the opportunities to improve the innovation capacity of firms. The results indicate that collaboration relationships played a partially mediating role. It acts as significant intermediate variables between social responsibility and innovation performance of service firms. The findings fill a gap in the literature by demonstrating how social responsibility initiatives influence the collaboration mechanisms of the firms through its positive effects on the collaboration between customers, employees, and business partners. They could also lead to the increase of their innovation potential. The managers of the firms using limited resources can stimulate indirectly the innovation by stimulating social responsibility initiatives because these have a multiplicative role in increasing the service firms’ innovation potential.
