Purpose: This study presents a systematic literature review that provides a broad and holistic view of how machine learning can be used and integrated to enhance decision-making in various areas of the supply chain, highlighting its combination with other techniques and models.Design/methodology/approach: An exhaustive literature review used three sets of keywords in the Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases. Through a rigorous filtering process, 70 articles were selected from an initial total of 410, focusing on those that specifically addressed the intersection of machine learning and decision-making in supply chain management.Findings: Machine learning has proven to be an essential tool in the supply chain, with applications in inventory management, logistics, and transportation, among others. Its integration with other techniques has led to significant advances in decision-making, improving efficiency in complex environments. Combining machine learning methods with traditional techniques has been particularly effective, and integration with emerging technologies has opened up new application possibilities.Originality/value: Unlike previous studies that focused on specific areas, this study offers a broad perspective on the application of machine learning in the supply chain. Additionally, combining machine learning techniques with other models is highlighted, representing added value for the scientific community and suggesting new avenues for future research.
Introduction: Chronic kidney disease associated with obesity (CKD-WO) has increased in prevalence in recent decades. It is characterized by excess adipocytic hormonal imbalances (adipokines), deregulation of the energy balance system, and imbalances in metabolic homeostasis. Purpose of the review: The objective is to outline the different pathophysiological mechanisms' role in developing functional or anatomical kidney disease in obese patients. We look for updated reports that include the best survival results for patients with CKD. Recent findings: We currently know that CKD-WO has a chronic pro-inflammatory behavior. Obesity and overweight are associated with hemodynamic, structural, and histopathological alterations in the kidney and metabolic and biochemical alterations that predispose to kidney disease, even when renal function and conventional tests are normal. Conclusions: We classify CKD-WO in Type 1: Obesity and potentially reversible functional alterations. Type 2: Obesity and potentially non-reversible histopathological structural alterations (includes glomerulopathy associated with obesity and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis). Type 3: Obesity-related to chronic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, heart failure). Type 4: Obesity in the patient with renal function replacement therapy.
Business survival has always been the concern of businessmen, of the productive sectors and associations in general, making good decisions will always be the reason why businessmen study, prepare and take risks in their work. At the global, regional and country level, there is a coincident survival figure, not higher than 50% after the fifth year of operation. In this research, at first, different studies are reviewed that show coincidence in the identification of productive factors that influence the business survival of SMEs. These 6 factors were chosen: human talent, marketing, innovation, information technology, quality and management. At second place, the study continues with the food and tobacco producing sector of the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga, Santander, this being the sector that contributes the most to the gross domestic product of the department of Santander. On this population, a survey was carried out to implement the 6 productivity factors chosen, with their respective variables, a statistical analysis was carried out defining 3 age groups, implementing descriptive statistics and correlation methods between variables. Among the main findings, it is identified that the variables related to human talent, such as professionalization and training, were determined as the ones that contribute the most to business survival in the department of Santander.

The companies of the diverse economic sectors permanently postulate objectives, goals and indicators in the different functional areas, which are reached by means of the suitable development of labors at strategic, tactical and operative level, being these executed by individuals influenced by internal and external factors, such is the case of labor satisfaction. The present research aims to analyze the variable in mention in different individuals of 4 sectorial groups, namely, food, traditional, logistic and emergent. The methodology had a quantitative approach, of descriptive type and of transversal cut, by means of the application of the questionnaire S20/23, instrument of great relevance in the object of study, in such sense, the sample was 356 occupied individuals. The most representative results indicate that the individuals can be agglomerated in 3 clusters, analyzed from two aspects: physical or tangible aspects and the personal or intangible aspects. From there it concludes that there is no substantial difference in the level of tangible aspects for the 3 clusters, but there is for the intangible aspects, suggesting that the logistics sector concentrate on strategies for physical aspects, the emerging sector on intangible aspects and the food and traditional sectors on a mixed strategy.
