Due to the rapid development of the fifth-generation (5G) applications, and increased demand for even faster communication networks, we expected to witness the birth of a new 6G technology within the next ten years. Many references suggested that the 6G wireless network standard may arrive around 2030. Therefore, this paper presents a critical analysis of 5G wireless networks’, significant technological limitations and reviews the anticipated challenges of the 6G communication networks. In this work, we have considered the applications of three of the highly demanding domains, namely: energy, Internet-of-Things (IoT) and machine learning. To this end, we present our vision on how the 6G communication networks should look like to support the applications of these domains. This work presents a thorough review of 370 papers on the application of energy, IoT and machine learning in 5G and 6G from three major libraries: Web of Science, ACM Digital Library, and IEEE Explore. The main contribution of this work is to provide a more comprehensive perspective, challenges, requirements, and context for potential work in the 6G communication standard.
Project management planning and assessment are of great significance in project performance activities. Without a realistic and logical plan, it isn’t easy to handle project management efficiently. This paper presents a wide-ranging comprehensive review of papers on the application of Machine Learning in software project management. Besides, this paper presents an extensive literature analysis of (1) machine learning, (2) software project management, and (3) techniques from three main libraries, Web Science, Science Directs, and IEEE Explore. One-hundred and eleven papers are divided into four categories in these three repositories. The first category contains research and survey papers on software project management. The second category includes papers that are based on machine-learning methods and strategies utilized on projects; the third category encompasses studies on the phases and tests that are the parameters used in machine-learning management and the final classes of the results from the study, contribution of studies in the production, and the promotion of machine-learning project prediction. Our contribution also offers a more comprehensive perspective and a context that would be important for potential work in project risk management. In conclusion, we have shown that project risk assessment by machine learning is more successful in minimizing the loss of the project, thereby increasing the likelihood of the project success, providing an alternative way to efficiently reduce the project failure probabilities, and increasing the output ratio for growth, and it also facilitates analysis on software fault prediction based on accuracy.
Malware has recently grown exponentially in recent years and poses a serious threat to individual users, corporations, banks, and government agencies. This can be seen from the growth of Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) that make use of advance and sophisticated malware. With the wide availability of computer-automated tools such as constructors, email flooders, and spoofers. Thus, it is now easy for users who are not technically inclined to create variations in existing malware. Researchers have developed various defense techniques in response to these threats, such as static and dynamic malware analyses. These techniques are ineffective at detecting new malware in the main memory of the computer and otherwise require considerable effort and domain-specific expertise. Moreover, recent techniques of malware detection require a long time for training and occupy a large amount of memory due to their reliance on multiple factors. In this paper, we propose a computer vision-based technique for detecting malware that resides in the main computer memory in which our technique is faster or memory efficient. It works by taking portable executables in a virtual environment to extract memory dump files from the volatile memory and transform them into a particular image format. The computer vision-based contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization and the wavelet transform are used to improve the contrast of neighboring pixel and to reduce the entropy. We then use the support vector machine, random forest, decision tree, and XGBOOST machine learning classifiers to train the model on the transformed images with dimensions of 112 × 112 and 56 × 56. The proposed technique was able to detect and classify malware with an accuracy rate of 97.01%. Its precision, recall, and F1-score were 97.36%, 95.65%, and 96.36%, respectively. Our finding shows that our technique in preparing dataset with more efficient features to be trained by the Machine Learning classifiers has resulted in significant performance in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, speed and memory consumption. The performance has superseded most of the existing techniques in its unique approach.
Biodiesel as an alternative to diesel fuel produced from vegetable oils or animal fats has attracted more and more attention because it is renewable and environmentally friendly. Compared to conventional diesel fuel, biodiesel has slightly lower performance in engine combustion due to the lower calorific value that leads to lower power generated. This study investigates the effect of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as an additive to the rice bran methyl ester (RBME). Artificial neural network (ANN) and response surface methodology (RSM) was used for predicting the calorific value. The interaction effects of parameters such as dosage of MWCNTs, size of MWCNTs and reaction time on the calorific value of RBME were studied. Comparison of RSM and ANN performance was evaluated based on the correlation coefficient (R2), the root mean square error (RMSE), the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), and the average absolute deviation (AAD) showed that the ANN model had better performance (R2 = 0.9808, RMSE = 0.0164, MAPE = 0.0017, AAD = 0.173) compare to RSM (R2 = 0.9746, RMSE = 0.0170, MAPE = 0.0028, AAD = 0.279). The optimum predicted of RBME calorific value that is generated using the cuckoo search (CS) via lévy flight optimization algorithm is 41.78 (MJ/kg). The optimum value was obtained using 64 ppm of < 7 nm MWCNTs blending for 60 min. The predicted calorific value was validated experimentally as 41.05 MJ/kg. Furthermore, the experimental results have shown that the addition of MWCNTs was significantly increased the calorific value from 36.87 MJ/kg to 41.05 MJ/kg (11.6%). Also, the addition of MWCNTs decreased flashpoint (−18.3%) and acid value (−0.52%). As a conclusion, adding MWCNTs as an additive had improved the physicochemical properties characteristics of RBME. To our best knowledge, no research has yet been performed on the effect of multi-walled carbon nanotubes-additive in physicochemical property of rice brand methyl ester application so far.
In modern society, the increasing number of web search operations on various search engines has become ubiquitous due to the significant number of results presented to the users and the incompetent result-ranking mechanism in some domains, such as medical, law, and academia. As a result, the user is overwhelmed with a large number of misranked or uncategorized search results. One of the most promising technologies to reduce the number of results and provide desirable information to the users is dynamic faceted filters. Therefore, this paper extensively reviews related research articles published in IEEE Xplore, Web of Science, and the ACM digital library. As a result, a total of 170 related research papers were considered and organized into five categories. The main contribution of this paper is to provide a detailed analysis of the faceted search’s fundamental attributes, as well as to demonstrate the motivation from the usage, concerns, challenges, and recommendations to enhance the use of the faceted approach among web search service providers.
