Background and Study Aim. Predicting the results of martial arts competitions is an important task that attracts the attention of both sports analysts and fans of these sports. The objective of this study is to perform an analytical examination of publications on martial arts prediction, with the aim of identifying the primary research directions in this field. Materials and Methods. the bibliometric analysis of PubMed database data was used to create a sample of studies at 18.05.2023. The keywords "prediction", "martial arts" were used for the search. A total of 151 publications were found. The first publication was dated 1983. VOSviewer 1.6.19 program was used: keyword analysis method and direct citation analysis with the construction of bibliometric maps, the visualization of cluster density, weights – citations. Results. 51 journals from 21 countries were identified. The unconditional leader among the countries is the United States (16 journals). Between 1983 and May 18, 2023, 741 scientific works were found. The analysis involved 67 authors whose link strength was more than 0. Eight clusters were identified. They were characterized by the presence of 271 links with total link strength of 276. The number of items in the clusters did not have a significant difference; this can be explained by the popularity of all directions in the research. The authors of the seventh and eighth clusters had the most publications. To visualize the network 63 items (keywords) were selected. They were grouped into 4 clusters. The network includes 951 links; the total link strength is 4027. The most popular studies are highlighted. These studies include the following keywords: "humans", "martial arts", "female", "male", "athletes", "young adult", "middle aged". Conclusions. The analysis of the bibliometric maps revealed the tendencies of scientific research and highlighted the priority areas. The relevance of the problem of prediction in martial arts is confirmed. An increase in the number of publications in PubMed database over the past decade has been observed. The main areas of research include martial arts, health, sports training, and humans. Most publications focus on utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for predicting competition outcomes. Additionally, they explore the application of analytical tools to uncover patterns in data and identify critical factors that impact competition results. Modern technologies and the availability of big data open up new possibilities for predicting competitive success in martial arts.

Background and Study Aim. With the increasing popularity of freestyle wrestling, the scientific community is paying more attention to gender factors that may influence the performance and success of competitive activities. The aim of study to determine differences in performance indicators between male and female wrestlers in the Olympic Games 2021. Material and Methods. The study included 192 athletes, consisting of 96 male wrestlers and 96 female wrestlers. An analysis of match records and video footage was conducted for women's (n=113) and freestyle (n=114) wrestling at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games. The assessment of performance indicators utilized an expert evaluation method. Statistical analysis of the obtained data was carried out using licensed Excel spreadsheet software. For categorical data, results were expressed in absolute numbers and percentages. Results. Based on the analysis of competitive activities at the 2021 Olympic Games, 12 primary technical-tactical actions were identified. The most frequently employed actions were in the standing position: leg attacks, with male wrestlers performing it 35.8% of the time and female wrestlers 30.3%; in the ground position, male wrestlers employed gut wrench (7.6%), while female wrestlers used ankle lace (9.4%). It was found that male wrestlers and female wrestlers accumulated approximately the same number of points for their actions: male wrestlers (926 points) and female wrestlers (912 points). The effectiveness in the standing position was higher for male wrestlers (720 points) than for female wrestlers (621 points). In the ground positions, female wrestlers demonstrated better effectiveness (291 points) than male wrestlers (206 points). The number of points deducted for rule violations was significantly lower for female wrestlers (8 times) compared to male wrestlers (27 times). Time stoppages during challenge reviews were fewer for female wrestlers (7 times) compared to male wrestlers (18 times). Conclusions. The conducted research indicates differences in the performance indicators of freestyle wrestling between men and women. Male wrestlers employ more actions in the standing position (81.7%) than female wrestlers (70.7%). Correspondingly, female wrestlers execute more actions in the ground positions (29.3%) compared to male wrestlers (18.3%). The total number of actions performed is higher for male wrestlers (579) than for female wrestlers (518). Female wrestlers achieve more premature victories (32.7% of all matches) compared to male wrestlers (24.6%). The obtained results will assist coaches in better adapting to gender differences and developing specific training programs for athletes.

Background and Study: Spectacle plays a key role in sports wrestling in attracting viewers' attention, creating emotional involvement, and making the sport an integral part of culture. Aim: To identify the most significant indicators of wrestlers' competitive activity based on the analysis of the 2021 Olympic Games, which influence the spectacle in sports wrestling. Material and Methods: The study involved 289 wrestlers. An analysis of protocols and video recordings of 340 matches at the 2021 Olympic Games in three types of sports wrestling was conducted: in women's wrestling – 113 matches (n=96 female wrestlers), in Greco-Roman wrestling – 113 matches (n=97 wrestlers), and in freestyle wrestling – 114 matches (n=96 wrestlers). Expert assessment method was used to evaluate the indicators of competitive activity. Statistical analysis of the data was conducted using licensed Excel spreadsheet packages. Results: For Greco-Roman wrestling and women's wrestling, the ratio of actions performed in par terre and standing is about 70 to 30. Whereas, for freestyle wrestlers, almost 80% of actions are performed in standing. The efficiency coefficient of wrestling in standing for Greco-Roman style wrestlers averaged 1.43 points per action; for freestyle wrestlers, it was 1.78 points per action, and for female wrestlers – 2.01 points per action. The highest number of one-point actions was performed in Greco-Roman wrestling, which significantly and statistically significantly (p<0.05) exceeds the indicators in freestyle and women's wrestling. Meanwhile, female wrestlers and freestyle wrestlers statistically significantly (p0.05): 4.23 actions for Greco-Roman wrestling; 4.47 actions for freestyle wrestling, and 4.08 actions for women's wrestling. However, when considering the average number of points scored per match, statistically significant differences were found. Thus, Greco-Roman style wrestlers score an average of 6.95 points, this indicator is statistically significantly lower (p<0.05) than in freestyle (8.12 points) and in women's wrestling (8.07 points). Conclusions: The analysis of matches at the 2021 Olympic Games made it possible to identify competitive activity indicators that influence the spectacle in sports wrestling. Positive indicators include: a large number of technical-tactical actions performed in standing; execution of throws in par terre by Greco-Roman style wrestlers; a high percentage of early victories in matches. Negative indicators: execution of simple one-point and two-point technical-tactical actions; in Greco-Roman wrestling, a large number of matches that ended with a score of 1:1; interruptions in matches (Challenge, Negative Wrestling, Caution), lack of dynamism in the match, and the inability to score too many points. The obtained results will help provide recommendations for changing competition rules and enhancing the spectacle of sports wrestling.

The study of the mechanisms underlying the perception of visual information, as well as the speed and adequacy of its processing, is of practical interest to martial artists. This study aims to develop and validate a methodology for assessing spatial perception in martial arts. It involved 57 participants practicing taekwondo, representing various age groups and skill levels (age: 18.6 years, SD = 3.52; qualifications: 8th Gup to 1st Dan). At the first stage of the research, the newly developed “Spatial Perception” application was preliminarily tested to determine its reliability and validity. In the second stage, the specific features of spatial perception among martial artists of different ages and qualifications were examined. The findings indicate that the rotation of objects provides additional information for object recognition, which reduces reaction time and the number of errors in response selection. The speed of processing dynamic visual cues reflects athletes’ psychophysiological capabilities, which are crucial during competitive bouts. Adult, qualified martial artists with relevant competitive experience possess a greater volume of visual images, which reduces the time of their spatial perception, thus confirming the hypothesis proposed in this study. Athletes at this level can maintain focus on objects and are less affected by distracting visual stimuli. The results obtained may assist martial arts coaches in improving the monitoring of athletes’ functional states and optimizing training processes.

Purpose: to reveal the influence of functional asymmetry on the performance of technical actions in freestyle wrestlers. Material and methods. Analysis of scientific and methodical literature and Internet sources; pedagogical testing; pedagogical experiment; methods of mathematical statistics. The profile of functional asymmetry of the brain in freestyle wrestlers was determined. We used the tapping test by E. Ilyin, tests to determine motor and visual asymmetry and dynamometry. According to the results of the tapping test, E. Ilyin, the coefficient of functional asymmetry was calculated based on the working capacity of the left and right hands. 24 freestyle wrestlers aged 18-21 took part in the study. Results: during the previous study it was found that wrestlers mainly perform technical actions in one direction. A sportsman at the initial stage of training must learn techniques in both directions. However, at the stage of maximum realization of individual capabilities this rule should not always be observed. Since the majority of respondents suggested that in order to improve sports results it is necessary to strengthen the asymmetry of the wrestler, a set of special exercises was applied in the experimental group. In the given complex the accentuated performance of basic technical actions in a convenient way, individual dosage of exercises on development of flexibility, force, and also static endurance on the leading side was provided. After conducting the pedagogical experiment, we again conducted educational and training matches and analyzed them according to the indicators that were interesting to us. Having processed the results obtained after conducting the pedagogical experiment, we reached the following conclusions. In the control group, the increase in results for all indicators was: «right-handed people to the right» - 4,4 %; «right-handed to the left» - 0,8 %; «left-handed to the right» - 3,9 %; «left-handed to the left» - 10,9 %. In the experimental group, according to the same indicators, we observed the following increase in results: «right-handed to the right» - 13,5 %; «right-handed to the left» - 0,4 %; «left-handed to the right» - 0,5 %; «left-handed to the left» - 18,7 %. The conducted statistical processing made it possible to establish that there was a reliable increase in technical actions in the convenient direction for both right-handed and left-handed players. Summarizing the results of the pedagogical experiment, we can come to the conclusion that the use of a set of exercises embedded in the accented execution of technical processes in the leading direction contributes to the increase in results and the increase in the efficiency of the execution of technical processes. Conclusions. The analysis of the distribution of the individual profile of functional asymmetry in freestyle wrestlers showed that among the 24 wrestlers we studied aged 18-21 years, the right-sided profile of functional asymmetry predominates – 66 % of wrestlers, the left-sided profile of functional asymmetry has 20 % of wrestlers, the rest 14 % are ambidexters. The presence of a connection between the performance of a technical action and the profile of functional asymmetry in wrestlers was revealed: athletes perform technical actions in the leading direction more often and more efficiently. The use of a complex of exercises aimed at increasing asymmetry contributes to the growth of technical processes, and more pronounced in the leading direction. Thus, the increase in the control group «right-handed to the right» was 4,4 %, «left-handed to the left» - 10,9 %, in the experimental group – 13,5 % and 18,7 %, respectively.
