This study inspects the viability of engaging the discarded paper wastes in concrete by varying the volume proportions from 0%–20% with each 5% increment in replacement of the weight of cement. A physiomechanical study was conducted, and the results were presented. A glass fiber reinforced rectangular slab with a longer span (ly) to shorter span (lx) ratio of (ly:lx) 1.16 was cast with optimum replacement of waste‐paper mass and compared the force‐deformation characteristics with the conventional concrete slab without waste paper. The optimum percentage of discarded papers for the replacement of cement is 5%. Also, the results imply that the compressive strength at the age of 28 days is 30% improved for the optimum replacement. Based on the outcomes of the investigation, it can be inferred that the compressive strength gets progressively reduced if the volume of the discarded paper gets increases. The incorporation of glass fibers improves the split and flexural strength of the concrete specimens considerably. The ultimate load‐carrying capacity of the glass fiber reinforced waste paper incorporated concrete slab measured 42% lower than that of the conventional slab. However, development of the new type of concrete incorporating waste papers is the new trend in ensuring the sustainability of construction materials.

This article investigates and presents the upshots observed in the brook of hybrid composites especially, the current investigation focuses on the impact of fiber composition, sequence, and stacking pattern on composite mechanical Features. Five varied stacking sequences of hybrid composites encompassing laminates are used to create four classes of fiber with jute/bamboo/glass by utilizing a conscientious hand lay‐up process with glass fiber‐laced mats as their peripheral layer. For examination, fiber sequences are arranged in the combination of GJBJG, GBJBG, GJGJG, and GBGBG, where G, J, and B refer to glass fiber, jute fiber, and bamboo fiber, respectively. The position of fiber in the core layer is kept in a perpendicular direction with respect to adjacent piles which might be jute or bamboo fiber and the best position of fiber is considered due to the stacking order. Stress and strain were linear in the load versus deflection curves, and all of the samples failed quickly, it is observed that the sample containing a higher or considerable number of bamboo fiber layers exhibited increased strain and toughness. In comparison to other samples, embolism of glass fiber as the main and covering layer expressed a higher impact on the mechanical properties of the composites is observed in this investigation. The shattered sample morphology demonstrated that the matrix and reinforcements were compatible.

Electricity is a crucial part of our everyday lives. A limited number of resources can be utilized to generate power; hence, one must save these resources or electricity for future utilization. This is only possible by using energy most efficiently. For sustainable development and energy conservation, energy auditing plays an indispensable role. The energy audit is an extensive study that helps to identify energy use among different services and provides opportunities for energy conservation. The literature showed various energy audits conducted at various locations with its analysis. Few were shown that the appliances are responsible for high energy consumption, and few talked about the cost analysis with energy‐saving methodologies. This work is proposed to combine the integration of renewable energy sources in a building and the cost‐saving due to energy‐efficient appliances. This paper tries to observe, infer, and analyze the patterns of energy usage of a residential complex and various measures to reduce energy consumption and cost‐saving. A case study is included to analyze the reduction in consumption of energy per unit to make the building energy efficient. A feasibility study is executed to observe the increments in costs. Calculations for auditing will reduce the building’s carbon footprint and benefit residents in the form of cost savings in the long run.

Additive manufacturing technology and its benefits have a significant impact on different industrial applications. The 3D printing technologies help manufacture lightweight intricate geometrical designs with enhanced strengths. The present study investigates the blended effects of previously recommended parameters of different infill patterns (line, triangle, and concentric) and infill densities (75, 80, and 85%) with varying thicknesses of layers (100, 200, and 300 μm). The test samples were created through Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) technology using Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) 3D printing. Mechanical properties were evaluated through tensile and impact strength tests conducted in accordance with ASTM standards. The experimental investigation reveals that the infill pattern greatly affected both tensile and impact strength. The best results were obtained with a concentric infill pattern, along with 80% infill density and 100 μm layer thickness. These conditions resulted in 123% and 115% higher tensile strength and 168% and 80% higher impact strength compared to line and triangle patterns, respectively.

The increasing global dependence on fossil fuels for energy has prompted researchers to explore alternative power generation sources that offer higher efficiency, cost‐effectiveness, and low environmental impact. Developed countries have been making continuous efforts to reduce their reliance on depleting fossil fuel sources to curb carbon emissions. As a result, hydrogen has gained significant attention among researchers as a potential future fuel that meets all the necessary criteria. Many countries aiming for a hydrogen economy have invested in research on fuel cells. Among various fuel cells, the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) has emerged as a commercially viable power source at a small scale. This paper provides an extensive review of the components, materials, design, operation, and integration strategies of SOFCs with existing thermal‐based power plants. The performance and prospects of various SOFCs in standalone and hybrid modes are summarized, along with the limitations. Additionally, the research and commercialization efforts that can enhance the potential applications of SOFCs as a sustainable and reliable system in the long term are outlined.

Nanotechnology is an emerging technology in the field of food and agriculture; every individual molecule and atom can be modified or controlled by this technology. Everything that exists on the earth is made up of atoms and molecules. Problems in all the fields can easily be overcome by modifying or altering their nanosize. Similarly, nanotechnology could address many issues in the agriculture and food industries. Nanomaterials play a keen role in the place of pesticides, fertilizers, and biosensors. Nutrition enhancement, safe delivery of bioactive components and micronutrients, and food preservations were facilitated by the applications of nanotechnologies. Efforts have to be taken to create awareness among the public in this nanotechnology field. Future research directions were identified in this review to improve the nanoembedded agriculture system. This article reviews the recent development in the agriculture and food industries through nanotechnology, application of nanotechnology in the food and agricultural sectors, and research backlogs in such sectors.
