Dr. Giuseppe Altieri is currently an associate professor (Agricultural Mechanics) at the DAFE Department of the University of Basilicata, qualified as a full professor. He graduated in electronic engineering in 1994 from the Polytechnic University of Bari. In 1995, he attended the research doctorate program at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Basilicata (only the first two years). In 2001, he was hired as a researcher in Agricultural Mechanics, and in 2011, he became an associate professor. He is a member of AIIA (Italian Society of Agricultural Engineering), a member of EurAgEng (European Society for Agricultural Engineers), and a member of CIGR (International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering). He is a specialist in the design and setup of online control systems for the storage, cooling, and freezing of agricultural foodstuffs and in the use of spectral multilinear statistical analysis to optimize and control the agri-food processes. Moreover, he is a specialist in software programming in a variety of high- and low-level languages: LabView G, C++, Python, Fortran, Basic, Forth, and Assembler. Lately he has been developing autonomous robotics system applications using ROS2 on Linux systems.
