Dr. Abdel Razzaq M. Al-Tawaha has completed Ph.D. in Horticulture. His work was about Increased Biomass Production of Lettuce Through Nutrient Management In A Red Hybrid Tilapia Based On Decoupled Recirculation Aquaponics System at Universiti Putra Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia.
In addition to practical experience in aquaponics, I have published more than 50 publications in refereed journals indexed in Scopus and the Web of Science (Clarivate Analysis). Also, I have book chapters for publication for different areas of agriculture
Dr Altawaha is Interested in Aquaponics, Soilless culture, Hydroponics, Sustainable agriculture food production systems, Nutrients Recycling in Hydroponics and aquaponics, Protected Agriculture, Plant nutrition, plant physiology and morphology.
I believed that aquaponic systems in both types, Recirculation Aquaponics System(RAS) and Decoupled recirculation aquaponics system (DRAPS), would play a powerful and significant role in the future of sustainable food production on a small and commercial scale. Aquaponics has directly affected the future of food security, especially in countries having a shortage of water and land resources.
After my MSc, my work as a research assistant focused on Hydroponics production forage crops, medicinal and aromatic herb plants (thyme, sage, mint), vegetables like cherry tomato, pepper, and cucumber.
