Prof. Paola Saccomandi is currently an associate professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. She received her MSc and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma in 2014. From 2014 to 2016 she was a postdoctoral researcher in the HandBot project (PRIN). From 2016 to 2018 she was a postdoctoral researcher at IHU—Institute of Image-Guided Surgery of Strasbourg, where she was also the principal investigator of several projects related to thermometry during minimally invasive thermal therapies. Her main research interests include fiber-optic sensors and biomedical imaging for physiological parameters monitoring.
