The development and advantages of renewable energy technologies mean that their areas of application are constantly expanding. The development of roads, transport systems, and electromobility also increases the demand for electricity. Roads occupy a certain area that could be used to install wind turbines or photovoltaic systems that could be used to power, among others, electric vehicle charging stations and road technical infrastructure facilities (travel service areas, tunnel lighting, road signs). There are many examples around the world where such solutions have been used. This critical review of existing solutions and the possibilities of their application in new places may contribute to further development and research in this area. Particular attention was paid to the possibility of using renewable energy systems in Poland, which can be successfully transferred to other countries with a similar climate.

In the face of ongoing climate changes and the current geopolitical situation, Renewable Energy Sources (RES) are continuously gaining popularity in many countries. Objectives related to environmental protection and the use of RES set by different countries all over the world, as well as by the European Union (EU), are becoming priorities for many. The increase in the installed capacity of photovoltaic systems has been growing steadily for several years, leading to the creation of new systems accompanying PV installations; this phenomenon has also been observed in Poland. This paper presents a photovoltaic system in the form of a bicycle shed next to a school building as an example of building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) without connection to the power grid. It was shown that the energy consumption profile should be properly correlated with the production profile, otherwise significant losses occur. Alternative methods to improve the correlation of production and energy consumption by using SCADA systems or building automation to properly manage the electricity generation and consumption installation were also proposed. Furthermore, it was shown that adopting a fixed discount rate in financial analyses can distort the picture of real profits. An analysis of the changes in the NPV ratio using variable discount rates was carried out when analyzing the entire life of the solar plant.

The paper deals with the subject of influence of the Quick Charge technology on the parameters of the charging process of lithium-ion cells. Tests of lithium-ion cell parameters during the charging process were performed at three different temperatures using conventional and accelerated charging. Also, the following paper comprises conclusions related to the conducted tests.

The growing global demand for food and energy requires land-use strategies that support agricultural production and renewable energy generation. Agrivoltaic (APV) systems allow farmland to be used for both agriculture and solar power generation. The aim of this study is to critically synthesize the interactions between the key dimensions of APV implementation—technical, agronomic, legal, and economic—in order to create a multidimensional framework for designing an APV optimization model. The analysis covers APV system topologies, appropriate types of photovoltaic modules, installation geometry, shading conditions, and micro-environmental impacts. The paper categorizes quantitative indicators and critical thresholds that define trade-offs between energy production and crop yields, including a discussion of shade-tolerant crops (such as lettuce, clover, grapevines, and hops) that are most compatible with APV. Quantitative aspects were integrated in detail through a review of mathematical approaches used to predict yields (including exponential-linear, logistic, Gompertz, and GENECROP models). These models are key to quantitatively assessing the impact of photovoltaic modules on the light balance, thus enabling the simultaneous estimation of energy efficiency and yields. Technical solutions that enhance synthesis, such as dynamic tracking systems, which can increase energy production by up to 25–30% while optimizing light availability for crops, are also discussed. Additionally, the study examines regional legal frameworks and the economic factors influencing APV deployment, highlighting key challenges such as land use classification, grid connection limitations, investment costs and the absence of harmonised APV policies in many countries. It has been shown that APV systems can increase water retention, mitigate wind erosion, strengthen crop resilience to extreme weather conditions, and reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) compared to small rooftop PV systems. A key contribution of the work is the creation of a coherent analytical design framework that integrates technical, agronomic, legal and economic requirements as the most important input parameters for the APV system optimization model. This indicates that wider implementation of APV requires clear regulatory definitions, standardized design criteria, and dedicated support mechanisms.

The paper deals with wireless charging of mobile devices. Quick Charge and USB Power Delivery technologies were presented; in relation to cooperation with induction chargers. Charging measurements for devices were carried out with the reference to the previously described standard and technology. Characteristics showing the changes in power and state of charge during the charging process for various measurement variants were made.

In the following article the impact of power characteristics of wind turbines on the total amount of generated power is introduced. The review of scientific literature suggested the need of further analysis of this issue. In order to do so, the performance parameters of eight wind turbines, 3kW each, were catalogued, their operational characteristics modeled, with the inclusion of sample measurements of essential environmental parameters, which were taken in exemplary location in Poland. Thanks to the gathered data, not only the wind speed histograms were made, but also the average wind speeds in particular months were calculated. Then, simulation studies were carried out to determine the most optimal wind turbine for a given location. The annual maximum amount of generated power served as the main criterion in the selection process.
