Work on these alloys includes thermodynamic calculations (ThermoCalc), fabrication (melting, single crystal growth, 3D printing) and characterization of microstructure (light microscopy, SEM, TEM), phase composition (XRD), and magnetic properties (VSM).
Other research interests are magnetic shape memory, metallic foams, and historical processing methods for ferrous alloys.
