A wireless passive high-temperature pressure sensor without evacuation channel fabricated in high-temperature co-fired ceramics (HTCC) technology is proposed. The properties of the HTCC material ensure the sensor can be applied in harsh environments. The sensor without evacuation channel can be completely gastight. The wireless data is obtained with a reader antenna by mutual inductance coupling. Experimental systems are designed to obtain the frequency-pressure characteristic, frequency-temperature characteristic and coupling distance. Experimental results show that the sensor can be coupled with an antenna at 600 °C and max distance of 2.8 cm at room temperature. The senor sensitivity is about 860 Hz/bar and hysteresis error and repeatability error are quite low.

Secure routing is crucial for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) because they are vulnerable to various attacks. In this paper, we propose a new secure routing protocol for WSNs in the presence of malicious nodes. For each relay node in the route, associated information such as its trust value and status is considered in the protocol. The trust value is defined as the attack probability of the node according to previous packet-forwarding behaviors, and the status is a hybrid metric that combines the residual energy and distance to the sink node. Therefore, the route generated by the protocol is secure against malicious attacks and globally optimal according to the associated information. We used an improved variant of the Dijkstra algorithm to generate the secure route for WSNs in the presence of malicious nodes. Compared with the Reputation-Based Mechanism to Stimulate Cooperation (RBMSC) model in the same simulation environment, the proposed model can maintain a higher delivery ratio, which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed model on the basis of global optimization. Furthermore, compared with the traditional Dijkstra algorithm, the packet loss ratio in the improved Dijkstra algorithm is lower because it can more effectively avoid malicious nodes, thus verifying the effectiveness of the improved algorithm.

In this work, a wireless passive LC resonant sensor based on DuPont 951 ceramic is proposed and tested in a developed high-temperature/pressure complex environment. The test results show that the measured resonant frequency varies approximately linearly with the applied pressure; simultaneously, high temperature causes pressure signal drift and changes the response sensitivity. Through the theoretical analysis of the sensor structure model, it is found that the increase in the dielectric constant and the decrease in the Young’s modulus of DuPont 951 ceramic are the main causes that affect the pressure signal in high-temperature measurement. Through calculations, the Young’s modulus of DuPont 951 ceramic is found to decrease rapidly from 120 GPa to 65 GPa within 400 °C. Therefore, the LC resonant pressure sensor needs a temperature compensation structure to eliminate the impact of temperature on pressure measurement. Finally, a temperature compensation structure is proposed and fabricated, and the pressure response after temperature compensation illustrates that temperature drift is significantly reduced compared with that without the temperature compensation structure, which verifies the feasibility the proposed temperature compensation structure.

In this paper, we present the design of an integrated temperature and strain dual-parameter sensor based on surface acoustic waves (SAWs). First, the COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software is used to determine separate frequencies for multiple sensors to avoid interference from their frequency offsets caused by external physical quantity changes. The sensor consists of two parts, a temperature-sensitive unit and strain-sensitive unit, with frequencies of 94.97 MHz and 90.05 MHz, respectively. We use standard photolithography and ion beam etching technology to fabricate the SAW temperature–strain dual-parameter sensor. The sensing performance is tested in the ranges 0–250 °C and 0–700 μԑ. The temperature sensor monitors the ambient temperature in real time, and the strain sensor detects both strain and temperature. By testing the response of the strain sensor at different temperatures, the strain and temperature are decoupled through the polynomial fitting of the intercept and slope. The relationship between the strain and the frequency of the strain-sensitive unit is linear, the linear correlation is 0.98842, and the sensitivity is 100 Hz/μԑ at room temperature in the range of 0–700 μԑ. The relationship between the temperature and the frequency of the temperature-sensitive unit is linear, the linearity of the fitting curve is 0.99716, and the sensitivity is 7.62 kHz/°C in the range of 25–250 °C. This sensor has potential for use in closed environments such as natural gas or oil pipelines.

This paper proposes a high-temperature optical fiber Fabry–Perot pressure sensor based on the micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS). The sensing structure of the sensor is composed of Pyrex glass wafer and silicon wafer manufactured by mass micromachining through anodic bonding process. The separated sensing head and the gold-plated fiber are welded together by a carbon dioxide laser to form a fiber-optic Fabry–Perot high temperature pressure sensor, which uses a four-layer bonding technology to improve the sealing performance of the Fabry–Perot cavity. The test system of high temperature pressure sensor is set up, and the experimental data obtained are calculated and analyzed. The experimental results showed that the maximum linearity of the optical fiber pressure sensor was 1% in the temperature range of 20–400 °C. The pressure sensor exhibited a high linear sensitivity of about 1.38 nm/KPa at room temperature at a range of pressures from approximarely 0-to 1 MPa. The structure of the sensor is characterized by high consistency, which makes the structure more compact and the manufacturing process more controllable.
