This study aims to gain further insights to Chinese and Taiwanese university students’ environmental literacy on ecotourism. A structural equation model is developed and validated in an effort to explore the differences between Chinese and Taiwanese university students in terms of their environmental knowledge, environmental attitude, and behavioral intentions. The results showed that the ecotourism perception of Chinese and Taiwanese university students affect their behavioral intentions. Chinese university students exhibited a higher correlation between ecotourism knowledge and behavioral intentions than their Taiwanese counterparts. The findings also revealed differences between the Chinese and Taiwanese students in their perception of ecotourism, and this disparity was particularly evident with regards to how ecotourism should be governed. A moderate difference in ecotourism behavioral intentions was also identified, in which Taiwanese university students were less likely to engage in self-empowerment or private empowerment, to be more educated in the field of ecotourism than their Chinese counterparts.

How to promote technological innovation with green finance policy has been a focal topic in the global green finance field in recent years. Using the difference-in-difference approach model, this paper investigated the impact of the Green Credit Guidance (GCG) policy implemented by the Chinese government in 2012 on the technological innovation of firms in pollution-intensive industries. The empirical results indicated that GCG had a negative impact, not only on research and development (R&D) input, but also on innovation output, and the impacts on firms with different property rights and different scales were consistent. Further research showed that GCG reduced the long-term debt of firms in pollution-intensive industries, and then significantly decreased the R&D input and innovation output; that is, long-term debt is a mediator in GCG and technology innovation. The results revealed that GCG fails to promote the technological innovation of firms in pollution-intensive industries. This paper suggests that China’s green credit policy should pay more attention to the technological innovation, transformation, and upgrading of firms in pollution-intensive industries.

Organizational resilience is a key capability for modern firms to survive and thrive in the VUCA environment. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanism of strategic human resource management on organizational resilience and the mediating and moderating roles of self-efficacy and self-management, respectively, in the relationship between the two. A total of 379 valid questionnaires were obtained from employees of Chinese companies in August 2022, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and Amos. The results showed that strategic HRM can effectively contribute to organizational resilience; self-efficacy plays a mediating role in the relationship between strategic HRM and organizational resilience; self-management can effectively contribute to the impact of self-efficacy on organizational resilience; and self-management can hinder the ability of strategic HRM to contribute to organizational resilience. This paper breaks with the previous literature that studied organizational resilience from a single perspective by studying organizational resilience from the perspective of strategic human resource management (SHRM) and verifies that SHRM can be a possible path for Chinese firms to improve organizational resilience.

In-depth interviews, text analysis of official documents, and a representative case study are explored to investigate the disempowerment of residents in Tiantangzhai, an emerging yet isolated alpine tourism area in Anhui Province, China. Qualitative research was conducted within the specific political and economic context of China and concludes that (1) residents suffered disempowerment in five areas, including access to productive living space, access to natural resources, access to information, travel benefits, and travel participation; and (2) the mechanisms of disempowerment included government development strategy and system design, elite community relationship networks, individual socio-economic conditions, and social support measures. The research implications suggest that smooth and successful tourism development depends on improving the performance assessment of officials, consolidating administrative supervision, the timely dissemination of information relevant to tourism development, and enhancing opportunities for local residents to participate in tourism development.

This paper offers an empirical analysis of the effects of financing channels on innovation and the regulatory effect of the enterprise life cycle based on data published from 2008 to 2017 on publicly traded companies in China. The results show that government subsidies, tax preferences, self-owned funds, and equity financing have significant positive incentives for enterprise innovation, and the incentive intensity is gradually weakened while bank loans will hinder enterprise innovation. The impacts of various financing channels on enterprise innovation vary with the different stages of the enterprise life cycle, and the overall performance is weakened with the advancement of the life cycle. According to the grouping research of property rights, it is found that the impacts of various financing channels on the innovation of non-state-owned enterprises are more significant than those of state-owned enterprises. Further research finds that the influence of each financing channel on enterprise innovation is U-shaped or inverted U-shaped, indicating that there is a moderate range of each financing channel. This study is of great significance to fully understand the impacts of various financing channels on enterprise innovation and the regulatory role of the enterprise life cycle and to optimize the allocation of innovation resources.

This paper investigates the use of natural areas, particularly regions in the very early stage of tourism development, specifically to determine how, by taking local residents’ perception of tourism into consideration from the initial stages of development, residents can then be divided into groups with different characteristics, allowing for a better grasp of influencing variables and contributing to the development of different strategies for the different groups. This could be conducive the development of sustainable ecotourism and could aid in avoiding some of the more negative impacts of tourism development. This study takes China's Tiantangzhai scenic area as an example, using the stratified sampling method and multinominal logistic regression model to classify groups of residents based on their perception of tourism, and identifies key factor
