Dr. Anastasios Kyritsis received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering and his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2003 and 2009, respectively. In August 2020, he joined the Department of Environment of Ionian University as an Assistant Professor in the field of electricity production via solar PV and wind power. He has published 60 papers and has been cited more than 1300 times in the international scientific bibliography (h-index 18). He is the co-author of two book chapters and holds one patent for active anti-islanding detection in impedance source inverters. He has participated in dozens of national and European research projects with the following objectives: i) the development of smart power electronic converters for the interconnection of RES units to electrical networks; ii) smart grids and micro-grids; iii) the electrification of onshore, air, and marine transportation for fuel savings and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions; iv) smart nZEB and ZEB buildings; v) the evaluation, testing, and characterization of innovative RES products; vi) energy communities and the development of new business models for the electricity market; and vii) training professionals in the field of RES. Dr. Kyritsis is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and was a member of the special scientific committee on “Electromechanical Energy Conversion and Power Electronics” of the Technical Chamber of Greece from 2005 to 2010.
