Marta Cavagnaro (M’00) holds a cum laude degree in Electronic Engineering and a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Engineering, Electronics, and Telecommunications at the same university. In 2017, she was awarded the Full Professor qualification in electromagnetic fields by the Italian Ministry of Research and University. Cavagnaro's research interests are focused on the dosimetric aspects of the interaction between electromagnetic fields and biological systems, including medical applications, the environmental impact of mobile communication systems, and the measurement of the dielectric properties of tissues. She serves as an Associate Editor for the Bioelectromagnetics journal and is an anonymous reviewer for several scientific journals. Additionally, she is the Italian representative in the Management Committees of the COST action, MyWAVE, which is dedicated to the standardization of thermal therapeutic techniques for medical technologies. She is also a member of the Thermal Medicine Standard Committee of ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers). Cavagnaro is the author or co-author of over 200 scientific papers.
