Sisira Kumara Naradda Gamage received his B.A. Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Peradeniya in 2001, and his M.SSc. in Economics from the University of Kelaniya. He completed his Doctorate in Applied Economics at Hunan University, China. He worked as a Lecturer at the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka from 2001–2019. In 2020, he was promoted to Professor in Economics. His research topics mainly include regional development, contemporary issues in tourism, microfinance, climate change, and environmental challenges. He is recognized as one of Sri Lanka’s most cited economists.
