The study of the arterial bed of the heart of small domestic animals is of high practical importance in veterinary practice and requires further development and study. The work was performed at the Department of Animal Anatomy, St. Petersburg State University of Veterinary Medicine. The material for the study was five corpses of Maine Coon cats, of which three cats (male) and two cats (females). The methods for the study were fine anatomical preparation and making casts of heart vessels using Flexstep latex milk. According to the results of the study, it was found that the right subsinus artery in a Maine Coon cat is poorly developed and does not participate in anastomosis with the branches of the left paraconal artery in the region of the apex of the heart. In the region of the coronary sulcus, the right anastomotic branch departs from the right coronary artery, which is involved in closing the collateral path of blood supply to the heart of the Maine Coon cat. The blood supply to the heart of a Maine Coon cat is due to the right and left coronary arteries, but the right coronary artery and its branches are less developed compared to the left, which confirms that this cat breed has a left-coronal type of blood supply.

Ed in fur farming in the Russian Federation. In the literature, there are often materials on the anatomy of representatives of the mustelid family, such as the American mink, American polecat, American marten and others. Along with this, in modern morphology there is practically no information about the anatomy of sables, and in particular about the black Pushkin breed. The purpose of this study is to study the structural features of the liver in the Pushkin black sable breed, as well as to determine its morphometric characteristics in the studied animals. During the study, the corpses of the black sable Pushkin breed were used. In total, fifteen corpses of sables of the black Pushkin breed aged two to three years were examined. To study the structural features of the liver, traditional anatomical techniques were used. According to the results of the study, it was found that the sable of the black Pushkin breed has six lobes, since the average lobe has no independent significance in the anatomy of the liver; the most developed lobes of the liver are the right medial lobe and the left lateral, and the least developed square and caudate lobes.

Goose wings are organs that serve for flying or soaring in the air, they have a powerful muscular system that needs constant blood supply. Arterial blood flows from the heart to the tissues through the arteries, which in turn are divided into arterioles to distribute blood through the tissues of the wing. On the wing of the goose there are flight feathers, without which flight would not be possible. For the growth and development of the feather, a good vascularization of the thoracic limb of this bird is also required. Knowing this, it can be assumed that the vessels going to the wing have a large diameter and a convenient skeletotopic arrangement for various veterinary manipulations during treatment and multiple preventive measures. We decided to set a goal – to study the vascularization of the shoulder and forearm on the example of a large gray goose, as well as to perform morphometry of the main arteries, to study their course and branching. The research was conducted at the Department of Animal Anatomy of the SPbGUVM. The corpses of a large gray goose in the amount of six pieces, aged from 7 to 9 months, were used as material. The corpses of the birds were delivered from a private farm in the Gatchina district of the Leningrad region. Studies of vascularization of the shoulder and forearm of a large gray goose were carried out using a complex of classical and modern research methods used in morphology. As a result of the study, it was found that the arteries of the thoracic limb of a large gray goose include the subclavian, pterygeal, axillary (axillary), scapular, brachial, which, separating, gives the radial and ulnar, deep artery of the shoulder, cranial circumference artery of the shoulder.

Taking into account the diet of the common hedgehog, we were faced with the question of the features of the structure of the chewing apparatus of the common hedge-hogs. We decided to study and establish anatomical, topographic and morphometric features of the structure of the lower jaw in the common hedgehog. The purpose of our study is to study the anatomical and topographic features of the structure of the lower jaw of the common hedgehog associated with the type of nutrition, as well as to establish morphometric data of the mandibular apparatus. To study the anatomical and topographic features of the structure of the mandibular bone of this individual, five corpses of the common hedgehog from the forestry of the Leningrad region were obtained. All representatives of this species were sexually mature. As a result of our research, we have established anatomical and topographic features of the structure of the lower jaw of the common hedgehog associated with the type of nutrition, and also determined the morphometric data of the mandibular apparatus. According to the results of the study, we came to the conclusion that the common hedgehog has a very powerful and well-developed lower jaw, which consists of a body and a branch. The root part of the mandibular bone is 2.10 times longer than the incisor part, and they are almost equal in width. This fact indicates the compression power of both incisor and molar teeth during biting and chewing solid food. On the incisor part there are incisor teeth in the amount of four pieces, on the root part of the body there are molars and premolars in the form of molars and premolars with a total of four pieces. Thanks to this, hedgehogs are able to easily grab food lying on the surface of the earth and chew thoroughly. The branch of the lower jaw has well-developed processes, thanks to which strong joints are formed and muscles are securely attached during the act of chewing. On the lateral surface of the lower jaw branch there is a well-defined depression that forms the pit of the large masticatory muscle, this certainly indicates the presence of highly developed masticatory muscles in this animal.

Poultry farming in Russia occupies a promising and strategic position in the agro-industrial complex, acting as a key source of providing the population with high-quality protein products such as meat and eggs. The urinary system in domestic birds has unique anatomical features, namely the absence of a bladder, direct excretion of urine through the cloaca. The kidneys of birds perform not only the function of filtering blood and removing metabolites, but also participate in calcium metabolism, which is critically important for the formation of eggshells. Fresh carcasses of ten individuals of the Hysex White cross were used as the research material. A study of the anatomical and topographic features of the kidneys of hens of the Hysex White cross revealed a number of differences between males and females. In males, the kidneys are larger, which is due to their greater body weight and increased intensity of metabolic processes. A more active water-salt exchange associated with behavioral factors requires increased filtration capacity. Anatomical asymmetry was found in both sexes: the left kidney is larger than the right one. This is due to the topography: the right kidney borders the liver, which limits its growth in the cranial direction. Analysis of the blood supply showed that the diameter of the renal vessels in males is larger than in females. This feature is associated with the influence of testosterone, which stimulates the development of vascular smooth muscle and enhances angiogenesis. In addition, the high body weight of males requires increased blood flow to supply the kidneys with oxygen and nutrients. These morphological differences reflect the evolutionary adaptation to sexual dimorphism in physiology and energy requirements typical of birds. In hens of Hysex White, such features are more pronounced due to breeding for high productivity, which can enhance the sexual specificity of the vascular system structure.
