Dr. Marzhan Sypabekova obtained her
Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Glasgow in 2011, her
Master’s degree in Bionanophotonics for Telecommunications and Biology from
Ecole normale supérieure de Cachan in 2014, and her Ph.D. in Engineering and
Technology from Nazarbayev University in 2019. Subsequently, she worked as a
Postdoctoral Researcher at Nazarbayev University School of Medicine from July
2019 to July 2021. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the
Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Baylor University. Dr.
Sypabekova has extensive experience in biosensor development, notably in
cost-effective, label-free optical cavity, optical fiber-based and
electrochemical biosensors for biomolecular interactions and disease detection.
She is also a member of the Biomedical Engineering Society.
